Psalm 132

Lord, remember David
    and all his self-denial.

Senhor, lembra-te de Davi
e das dificuldades que enfrentou.

He swore an oath to the Lord,
    he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:

Ele jurou ao Senhor
e fez um voto ao Poderoso de Jacó:

“I will not enter my house
    or go to my bed,

“Não entrarei na minha tenda
e não me deitarei no meu leito;

I will allow no sleep to my eyes
    or slumber to my eyelids,

não permitirei
    que os meus olhos peguem no sono
nem que as minhas pálpebras descansem,

till I find a place for the Lord,
    a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

enquanto não encontrar
    um lugar para o Senhor,
uma habitação para o Poderoso de Jacó”.

We heard it in Ephrathah,
    we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:^[a]

Soubemos que a arca estava em Efrata^[a],
mas nós a encontramos nos campos de Jaar^[b]:

“Let us go to his dwelling place,
    let us worship at his footstool, saying,

“Vamos para a habitação do Senhor!
Vamos adorá-lo diante do estrado de seus pés!

‘Arise, Lord, and come to your resting place,
    you and the ark of your might.

Levanta-te, Senhor,
e vem para o teu lugar de descanso,
tu e a arca onde está o teu poder.

May your priests be clothed with your righteousness;
    may your faithful people sing for joy.’”

Vistam-se de retidão os teus sacerdotes;
cantem de alegria os teus fiéis”.

For the sake of your servant David,
    do not reject your anointed one.

Por amor ao teu servo Davi,
não rejeites o teu ungido.

The Lord swore an oath to David,
    a sure oath he will not revoke:
“One of your own descendants
    I will place on your throne.

O Senhor fez um juramento a Davi,
um juramento firme que ele não revogará:
“Colocarei um dos seus descendentes
    no seu trono.

If your sons keep my covenant
    and the statutes I teach them,
then their sons will sit
    on your throne for ever and ever.”

Se os seus filhos forem fiéis à minha aliança
e aos testemunhos que eu lhes ensino,
também os filhos deles
    o sucederão no trono para sempre”.

For the Lord has chosen Zion,
    he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,

O Senhor escolheu Sião,
    com o desejo de fazê-la sua habitação:

“This is my resting place for ever and ever;
    here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.

“Este será o meu lugar de descanso
    para sempre;
aqui firmarei o meu trono,
    pois esse é o meu desejo.

I will bless her with abundant provisions;
    her poor I will satisfy with food.

Abençoarei este lugar com fartura;
os seus pobres suprirei de pão.

I will clothe her priests with salvation,
    and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.

Vestirei de salvação os seus sacerdotes
e os seus fiéis a celebrarão com grande alegria.

“Here I will make a horn^[b] grow for David
    and set up a lamp for my anointed one.

“Ali farei renascer o poder^[c] de Davi
e farei brilhar a luz^[d] do meu ungido.

I will clothe his enemies with shame,
    but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown.”
