2 Corinthians 5

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Noi ştim într-adevăr că, dacă este distrusă casa cortului nostru pământesc, avem o locuinţă de la Dumnezeu, o casă veşnică în ceruri, care nu este făcută de mâini omenești.

Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,

Căci gemem în cortul acesta, dorind să ne îmbrăcăm peste el cu lăcaşul nostru ceresc^[a],

because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.

negreşit dacă, după ce vom fi îmbrăcaţi, nu vom fi^[b] găsiţi goi.

For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

În timp ce suntem în acest cort, gemem şi suntem împovăraţi, nu pentru că dorim să fim dezbrăcaţi, ci pentru că dorim să fim îmbrăcaţi, pentru ca ceea ce este muritor să fie înghiţit de viaţă.

Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Şi Cel Ce ne-a pregătit pentru aceasta este Dumnezeu, Care ne-a dat Duhul ca pe o garanţie.

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.

De aceea, întotdeauna suntem plini de încredere, chiar dacă ştim că, atâta timp cât suntem acasă în trup, suntem departe de Domnul.

For we live by faith, not by sight.

Căci noi umblăm prin credinţă, nu prin vedere;

We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

avem încredere şi ne place mult mai mult să fim departe de trup şi să fim acasă cu Domnul.

So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

Astfel, fie că suntem acasă, fie că suntem departe de casă, scopul nostru este să-I fim plăcuţi,

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

fiindcă toţi trebuie să ne înfăţişăm înaintea tronului de judecată al lui Cristos, pentru ca fiecare să-şi primească răsplata pentru ceea ce a făcut în timp ce era în trup, fie bine, fie rău.

Mesajul împăcării

Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.

Aşadar, cunoscând frica de Domnul, încercăm să-i convingem pe oameni. Noi suntem pe deplin cunoscuţi de către Dumnezeu şi sper că, de asemenea, suntem cunoscuţi şi conştiinţelor voastre.

We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.

Noi nu ne recomandăm din nou înaintea voastră, ci vă dăm o ocazie de a vă lăuda cu noi, ca să puteţi răspunde celor care se laudă cu înfăţişarea exterioară, şi nu cu inima.

If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

Dacă ne-am ieşit din minţi, pentru Dumnezeu ne-am ieşit; dacă suntem întregi la minte, pentru voi suntem.

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.

Căci dragostea lui Cristos ne constrânge, întrucât suntem convinşi că atunci când Unul a murit pentru toţi, toţi au murit.

And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

El a murit pentru toţi, pentru ca cei vii să nu mai trăiască pentru ei înşişi, ci pentru Cel Ce a murit şi a fost înviat pentru ei.

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.

Astfel, de acum, noi nu mai cunoaştem pe nimeni în felul lumii. Chiar dacă odată L-am cunoscut pe Cristos în felul lumii, acum nu-L mai cunoaştem aşa.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:^[a] The old has gone, the new is here!

Astfel, dacă cineva este în Cristos, este o nouă creaţie. Cele vechi s-au dus; iată, toate au devenit noi!

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

Toate acestea sunt de la Dumnezeu, Care, prin Cristos, ne-a împăcat cu Sine şi ne-a dat mesajul împăcării:

that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

anume acela că Dumnezeu era în Cristos, împăcând lumea cu Sine, nemaiţinând în seamă păcatele oamenilor, şi ne-a încredinţat nouă Cuvântul împăcării.

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Deci noi suntem ambasadori ai lui Cristos şi, ca şi cum Dumnezeu ar îndemna prin noi, vă rugăm, în Numele lui Cristos, împăcaţi-vă cu Dumnezeu!

God made him who had no sin to be sin^[b] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

El, pentru noi, L-a făcut păcat^[c] pe Cel Ce n-a cunoscut păcatul, pentru ca, în El, să devenim dreptatea lui Dumnezeu.
