Psalm 14

The fool^[a] says in his heart,
    “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
    there is no one who does good.

قَالَ الْجَاهِلُ فِي قَلْبِهِ: لَا يُوجَدُ إِلَهٌ! قَدْ فَسَدَ الْبَشَرُ وَارْتَكَبُوا الْمُوبِقَاتِ، وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمْ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ الصَّلاحَ.

The Lord looks down from heaven
    on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand,
    any who seek God.

أَشْرَفَ الرَّبُّ عَلَى بَنِي آدَمَ لِيَرَى هَلْ هُنَاكَ أَيُّ فَاهِمٍ يَطْلُبُ اللهَ؟

All have turned away, all have become corrupt;
    there is no one who does good,
    not even one.

فَإِذَا الْجَمِيعُ قَدْ ضَلُّوا عَلَى السَّوَاءِ. كُلُّهُمْ فَسَدُوا، وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمْ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ الصَّلاحَ، وَلَا وَاحِدٌ.

Do all these evildoers know nothing?

أَلَيْسَ لَدَى جَمِيعِ فَاعِلِي الإِثْمِ مَعْرِفَةٌ؟ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ شَعْبِي كَمَا يَأْكُلُونَ خُبْزاً، وَلَا يَطْلُبُونَ الرَّبَّ.

But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
    for God is present in the company of the righteous.

هُنَاكَ اسْتَوْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ خَوْفٌ عَظِيمٌ، لأَنَّ اللهَ فِي جَمَاعَةِ الأَبْرَارِ.

You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor,
    but the Lord is their refuge.

تُسَفِّهُونَ رَأْيَ الْمِسْكِينِ، لأَنَّهُ جَعَلَ اللهَ مَلْجَأَهُ.

Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
    When the Lord restores his people,
    let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
