Verse 1
Woe to those who plan iniquity,
to those who plot evil on their beds!
At morning’s light they carry it out
because it is in their power to do it.

وَيْلٌ لِلْمُتَآمِرِينَ بِالسُّوءِ، الَّذِينَ يَحُوكُونَ الشَّرَّ وَهُمْ فِي مَضَاجِعِهِمْ، الَّذِينَ يُنَفِّذُونَ عِنْدَ طُلُوعِ الصَّبَاحِ مَا خَطَّطُوا لَهُ، لأَنَّ ذَلِكَ فِي مُتَنَاوَلِ قُدْرَتِهِمْ.
Verse 2
They covet fields and seize them,
and houses, and take them.
They defraud people of their homes,
they rob them of their inheritance.

يَشْتَهُونَ حُقُولاً وَيَغْتَصِبُونَهَا، وَبُيُوتاً فَيَسْتَوْلُونَ عَلَيْهَا. يَجُورُونَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ وَعَلَى بَيْتِهِ وَالإِنْسَانِ وَمِيرَاثِهِ.

Verse 3
Therefore, the Lord says:
“I am planning disaster against this people,
from which you cannot save yourselves.
You will no longer walk proudly,
for it will be a time of calamity.
لِهَذَا، هَكَذَا يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ. هَا أَنَا أُدَبِّرُ شَرّاً لِهَذَا الشَّعْبِ تَعْجَزُونَ عَنْ فَكِّ رِقَابِكُمْ مِنْهُ، وَلَنْ تَمْشُوا بَعْدُ مُتَشَامِخِينَ لأَنَّ الزَّمَنَ يَكُونُ زَمَنَ سُوءٍ.

In that day people will ridicule you;
they will taunt you with this mournful song:
‘We are utterly ruined;
my people’s possession is divided up.
He takes it from me!
He assigns our fields to traitors.’”

فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ يَسْخَرُ أَعْدَاؤُكُمْ مِنْكُمْ، وَتَنُوحُونَ بِمِثْلِ هَذَا الرِّثَاءِ: «قَدْ تَمَّ تَدْمِيرُنَا وَاسْتَبْدَلَ الرَّبُّ نَصِيبَ شَعْبِهِ. كَيْفَ أَخَذَهُ مِنَّا وَقَسَمَ حُقُولَنَا بَيْنَ آسِرِينَا؟»

Therefore you will have no one in the assembly of the Lord

لِهَذَا لَنْ يُوْجَدَ بَيْنَ جَمَاعَةِ الرَّبِّ مَنْ يُلْقِي الْقُرْعَةَ لِيَقْسِمَ الأَرْضَ.

“Do not prophesy,” their prophets say.

disgrace will not overtake us.”

يَقُولُ الشَّعْبُ لِلأَنْبِياءِ: لَا تَتَنَبَّأُوا بِمِثْلِ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ، لأَنَّ الْعَارَ لَنْ يَلْحَقَ بِنَا.

You descendants of Jacob, should it be said,
“Does the Lord become[a] impatient?
Does he do such things?”

آهِ يَا بَيْتَ يَعْقُوبَ؟ هَلْ نَفَدَ صَبْرُ رُوحِ الرَّبِّ؟ أَهَذِهِ الأَفْعَالُ صَدَرَتْ عَنْهُ؟ أَلَيْسَتْ كَلِمَاتِي صَالِحَةً لِلسَّالِكِينَ بِالاسْتِقَامَةِ؟

Lately my people have risen up
like an enemy.
You strip off the rich robe
from those who pass by without a care,

بِالأَمْسِ هَبَّ شَعْبِي كَعَدُوٍّ! تَسْلُبُونَ رِدَاءَ الْعَابِرِينَ بِأَمْنٍ وَالْعَائِدِينَ مِنَ القِتَالِ.

from their pleasant homes.

تَطْرُدُونَ أَرَامِلَ شَعْبِي مِنْ بُيُوتِهِنَّ، وَتُجَرِّدُونَ أَطْفَالَ كُلٍّ مِنْهُنَّ مِنْ عَطَايَايَ إِلَى الأَبَدِ.

Get up, go away!
For this is not your resting place,
because it is defiled,
it is ruined, beyond all remedy.

هُبُّوا وَاذْهَبُوا، فَهَذَا لَيْسَ مَكَانَ رَاحَتِكُمْ، لأَنَّهُ أَصْبَحَ نَجِساً، مُدَمَّراً وَلا يُمْكِنُ تَرْمِيمُهُ.

If a liar and deceiver comes and says,
‘I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,’
that would be just the prophet for this people!

Deliverance Promised
إِنْ جَالَ رَجُلٌ يَتَنَبَّأُ بَيْنَكُمْ بِالْكَذِبِ وَبِاللَّغْوِ الْبَاطِلِ قَائِلاً: إِنَّنِي أَتَنَبَّأُ لَكُمْ بِالْخَمْرِ الْوَفِيرِ وَالْمُسْكِرِ، فَإِنَّهُ يُصْبِحُ نَبِيَّ هَذَا الشَّعْبِ.
الوعد بالخلاص

“I will surely gather all of you, Jacob;
I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel.

like a flock in its pasture;
the place will throng with people.

سَأَجْمَعُ شَتَاتَكَ جَمِيعاً يَا يَعْقُوبُ، وَأَجْمَعُ بَقِيَّةَ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَضُمُّهُمْ مَعاً كَقَطِيعِ غَنَمٍ فِي حَظِيرَةٍ، مِثْلَ قَطِيعٍ مُحْتَشِدٍ فِي مَرْعىً، فَتَرْتَفِعُ جَلَبَةُ جُمْهُورِهِمْ.
