Verse 1
Then Job replied:
أَيُّوبُ:
Verse 2
“How you have helped the powerless!
How you have saved the arm that is feeble!
How you have saved the arm that is feeble!
«يَا لَكُمْ مِنْ عَوْنٍ كَبِيرٍ لِلْخَائِرِ! كَيْفَ خَلَّصْتُمْ ذِرَاعاً وَاهِيَةً!
Verse 3
What advice you have offered to one without wisdom!
And what great insight you have displayed!

أَيَّةَ مَشَورَةٍ أَسْدَيْتُمْ لِلأَحْمَقِ! أَيَّةُ مَعْرِفَةٍ صَادِقَةٍ وَافِرَةٍ زَوَّدْتُمُوهُ بِها!
Verse 4
Who has helped you utter these words?
And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?

لِمَنْ نَطَقْتُمْ بِالْكَلِمَاتِ؟ وَرُوحُ مَنْ عَبَّرتُمْ عَنْهُ؟

“The dead are in deep anguish,
those beneath the waters and all that live in them.

تَرْتَعِدُ الأَشْبَاحُ مِنْ تَحْتُ، وَكَذَلِكَ الْمِيَاهُ وَسُكَّانُهَا.
Verse 6
الْهَاوِيَةُ مَكْشُوفَةٌ أَمَامَ اللهِ وَالْهَلاكُ لَا سِتْرَ لَهُ.

He spreads out the northern skies over empty space;
he suspends the earth over nothing.

يَمُدُّ الشِّمَالَ عَلَى الْخَوَاءِ وَيُعَلِّقُ الأَرْضَ عَلَى لَا شَيْءٍ.

He wraps up the waters in his clouds,
yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.

يَصُرُّ الْمِيَاهَ فِي سُحُبِهِ فَلا يَتَخَرَّقُ الْغَيْمُ تَحْتَهَا.

He covers the face of the full moon,
spreading his clouds over it.

يَحْجُبُ وَجْهَ عَرْشِهِ وَيَبْسُطُ فَوْقَهُ غُيُومَهُ.

He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters

رَسَمَ حَدّاً عَلَى وَجْهِ الْمِيَاهِ عِنْدَ خَطِّ اتِّصَالِ النُّورِ بِالظُّلْمَةِ.

The pillars of the heavens quake,
aghast at his rebuke.

مِنْ زَجْرِهِ تَرْتَعِشُ أَعْمِدَةُ السَّمَاءِ وَتَرْتَعِدُ مِنْ تَقْرِيعِهِ.

By his power he churned up the sea;
by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.

بِقُوَّتِهِ يُهَدِّئُ هَيَجَانَ الْبَحْرِ وَبِحِكْمَتِهِ يَسْحَقُ رَهَبَ.

By his breath the skies became fair;
his hand pierced the gliding serpent.

بِنَسْمَتِهِ جَمَّلَ السَّمَاوَاتِ، وَيَدَاهُ اخْتَرَقَتَا الْحَيَّةَ الْهَارِبَةَ.

And these are but the outer fringe of his works;
how faint the whisper we hear of him!
Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”

وَهَذِهِ لَيْسَتْ سِوَى أَدْنَى طُرُقِهِ، وَمَا أَخْفَتَ هَمْسَ كَلامِهِ الَّذِي نَسْمَعُهُ؛ فَمَنْ يُدْرِكُ إِذاً رَعْدَ جَبَرُوتِهِ؟»
