Verse 1

Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.

나는 그 보좌에 앉으신 분이 오른손에 책 한 권을 들고 계신 것을 보았습니다. 그 책에는 안팎으로 글이 씌어 있었고 일곱 도장이 찍혀 봉해져 있었습니다.

Verse 2

And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”

내가 보니 힘 있는 한 천사가 큰 소리로 “누가 봉한 것을 떼고 책을 펼 수 있겠느냐?” 하고 외쳤습니다.

Verse 3

But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.

그러나 하늘과 땅과 땅 아래에 그 책을 펴거나 그 안을 들여다볼 사람이 아무도 없었습니다.

Verse 4

I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.

그렇게 할 수 있는 사람이 보이지 않으므로 내가 크게 울자

Verse 5

Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

장로 한 사람이 “울지 마시오. 유다 지파의 사자, ^[a]다윗의 자손이 이겼으므로 그분이 일곱 군데의 봉한 것을 떼고 그 책을 펼 것입니다” 하고 말했습니다.

Verse 6

Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits^[a] of God sent out into all the earth.

그때 나는 전에 죽음을 당한 것처럼 보이는 어린 양이 네 생물과 장로들에게 둘러싸여 보좌 가운데 서 있는 것을 보았습니다. 그 어린 양은 일곱 뿔과 일곱 눈이 있었는데 이 눈은 온 땅에 보냄을 받은 하나님의 일곱 영이었습니다.

Verse 7

He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

어린 양은 나아와 보좌에 앉아 계신 분의 오른손에서 책을 받아 들었습니다.

Verse 8

And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.

그러자 네 생물과 24명의 장로들은 각자 거문고와 성도들의 기도인 향을 가득 담은 금대접을 들고 어린 양 앞에 엎드렸습니다.

Verse 9

And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll
    and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
    and with your blood you purchased for God
    persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

그리고 그들은 새 노래를 이렇게 불렀습니다. “주님은 책을 받아 봉한 것을 뗄 수 있는 분이십니다. 일찍 죽음을 당하셔서 종족과 언어와 국가를 초월하여 세계 모든 민족들 가운데서 당신의 피로 사람들을 사서 하나님께 드리시고

Verse 10

You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign^[b] on the earth.”

그들을 제사장들의 나라가 되게 하여 우리 하나님을 섬기게 하셨으니 그들이 땅에서 다스릴 것입니다.”

Verse 11

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.

나는 또 보좌와 생물과 장로들을 둘러선 헤아릴 수 없는 수많은 천사들을 보았으며 그들의 음성도 들었습니다.

Verse 12

In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

그들이 큰 소리로 “죽음을 당하신 어린 양은 능력과 부와 지혜와 힘과 존귀와 영광과 찬송을 받으실 분이십니다” 하고 외치고 있었습니다.

Verse 13

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

나는 또 하늘과 땅과 땅 아래와 바다에 있는 모든 것들이 “보좌에 앉으신 분과 어린 양에게 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 능력이 길이길이 함께하기를 바랍니다” 하고 외치는 소리를 들었습니다.

Verse 14

The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

그러자 네 생물은 “아멘” 하고 장로들은 엎드려 경배했습니다.
