Ezekiel 43

Then the man brought me to the gate facing east,

そのあと、その人は外塀を回って、私を東の門に連れ戻しました。

and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory.

すると突然、イスラエルの神の栄光が東の方に現れました。その近づく音は激流のとどろきのようで、その全光景が栄光に輝いていました。

The vision I saw was like the vision I had seen when he^[a] came to destroy the city and like the visions I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell facedown.

その光景は、私が最初にケバル川のほとりで、次にエルサレムで、神がその町を滅ぼすために来られた時に見た幻と同じでした。私は顔を地にすりつけるようにして、ひれ伏しました。

The glory of the Lord entered the temple through the gate facing east.

主の栄光は、東の門を通って神殿に入って行きました。

Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

それから、私は御霊によって引き上げられ、内庭に連れて行かれました。神殿は主の栄光に包まれていました。

While the man was standing beside me, I heard someone speaking to me from inside the temple.

すると、神殿の中から主が私に語りかける声を聞いたのです。神殿を測っていたあの人は、まだ私のそばに立っていました。

He said: “Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet. This is where I will live among the Israelites forever. The people of Israel will never again defile my holy name—neither they nor their kings—by their prostitution and the funeral offerings^[b] for their kings at their death.^[c]

主はこう語りました。「人の子よ。ここはわたしの王座、わたしの足台、わたしが永遠にイスラエルの民の間に住む場所である。民も王たちも、無節操にほかの神々を礼拝したり、王たちの墓を拝んだりして、わたしの聖なる名を汚すことはもうしなくなる。

When they placed their threshold next to my threshold and their doorposts beside my doorposts, with only a wall between me and them, they defiled my holy name by their detestable practices. So I destroyed them in my anger.

彼らはわたしの神殿のすぐわきに、塀一つ隔てただけで偶像の宮を建て、偶像を礼拝していた。このような悪行によって、わたしの聖なる名を傷つけたので、わたしは怒って彼らを滅ぼした。

Now let them put away from me their prostitution and the funeral offerings for their kings, and I will live among them forever.

さあ今、その偶像や王たちの墓を取り除け。そうすれば、わたしは永遠に彼らの間に住もう。

“Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins. Let them consider its perfection,

人の子よ。おまえに見せた神殿の光景を、イスラエル国民に描きなさい。神殿の構造や造りを教えるのだ。そうすれば、彼らも罪を恥じるようになるだろう。

and if they are ashamed of all they have done, make known to them the design of the temple—its arrangement, its exits and entrances—its whole design and all its regulations^[d] and laws. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations.

もし彼らがほんとうに自分たちのしたことを恥じるなら、そのときには、戸や入口などの構造を細大もらさず説明しなさい。守らなければならない命令や規則を、みな書き記すのだ。

“This is the law of the temple: All the surrounding area on top of the mountain will be most holy. Such is the law of the temple.

The Great Altar Restored

きよさこそ神殿の生命である。神殿が建っている山の頂全域がきよいのだ。これこそ、神殿についてのおきてである。

祭壇の回復

“These are the measurements of the altar in long cubits,^[e] that cubit being a cubit and a handbreadth: Its gutter is a cubit deep and a cubit wide, with a rim of one span^[f] around the edge. And this is the height of the altar:

祭壇の寸法は次のようにしなさい。土台の高さは一キュビト、その回りのみぞの幅は一あたり（約二十二・二センチメートル）。また、土台は祭壇の回りより一キュビトずつ広くする。

From the gutter on the ground up to the lower ledge that goes around the altar it is two cubits high, and the ledge is a cubit wide.^[g] From this lower ledge to the upper ledge that goes around the altar it is four cubits high, and that ledge is also a cubit wide.^[h]

祭壇の第一段は石の台座で、その高さは二キュビト。この台座は土台よりも一キュビトずつ狭くする。この台座の上にはさらに一キュビト狭くなった台座があり、その高さは四キュビト。

Above that, the altar hearth is four cubits high, and four horns project upward from the hearth.

その上にさらに狭い台座があり、これが祭壇の最上部で、その高さは四キュビト。その四隅に一キュビトの角が上方に突き出ている。

The altar hearth is square, twelve cubits^[i] long and twelve cubits wide.

この最上部の台座は、十二キュビトの正方形である。

The upper ledge also is square, fourteen cubits^[j] long and fourteen cubits wide. All around the altar is a gutter of one cubit with a rim of half a cubit.^[k] The steps of the altar face east.”

その下の台座は十四キュビトの正方形で、その回りのみぞは半キュビトである。この台座は四方とも上の台座より一キュビトずつ広くなっていて、東側に祭壇に上る階段がある。」

Then he said to me, “Son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: These will be the regulations for sacrificing burnt offerings and splashing blood against the altar when it is built:

さらに主は、次のように語りました。「人の子よ、神である主がこう言う。以上が、焼き尽くすいけにえをささげて血を注ぐために、将来建てる祭壇の寸法である。

You are to give a young bull as a sin offering^[l] to the Levitical priests of the family of Zadok, who come near to minister before me, declares the Sovereign Lord.

祭壇が建てられた時には、わたしに仕えるレビ部族のツァドク家の者たちに、罪の赦しのためのいけにえとする若い雄牛一頭を与えなさい。

You are to take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar and on the four corners of the upper ledge and all around the rim, and so purify the altar and make atonement for it.

あなたはその血を取って、祭壇の四本の角と、最上部の台座の四隅と、その回りのみぞとに塗りつけなさい。その血によって祭壇はきよめられ、神のものとされるのだ。

You are to take the bull for the sin offering and burn it in the designated part of the temple area outside the sanctuary.

それから、罪の赦しのためのいけにえの雄牛を取り、聖所の外にある所定の場所で焼きなさい。

“On the second day you are to offer a male goat without defect for a sin offering, and the altar is to be purified as it was purified with the bull.

二日目に、病気がなく、欠陥も傷も傷跡もない若い雄やぎを、罪の赦しのためのいけにえとしてささげなさい。こうして、雄牛できよめたのと同じように祭壇をきよめる。

When you have finished purifying it, you are to offer a young bull and a ram from the flock, both without defect.

このきよめの儀式が終わったら、群れのうちから、傷や欠陥のない完全な雄牛と雄羊を、さらに一頭ずつささげなさい。

You are to offer them before the Lord, and the priests are to sprinkle salt on them and sacrifice them as a burnt offering to the Lord.

わたしの前にこの二頭を差し出すのだ。祭司がその上に塩をまき、焼き尽くすいけにえとしてささげる。

“For seven days you are to provide a male goat daily for a sin offering; you are also to provide a young bull and a ram from the flock, both without defect.

七日間、毎日、罪の赦しのためのいけにえとして、群れの中から雄やぎ、雄牛、雄羊を取ってささげなさい。いけにえには、どんな欠陥も病気もあってはならない。

For seven days they are to make atonement for the altar and cleanse it; thus they will dedicate it.

七日間、毎日このようにして祭壇をきよめ、神のものとしてささげるのだ。

At the end of these days, from the eighth day on, the priests are to present your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings on the altar. Then I will accept you, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

八日目以後は毎日、祭司は祭壇の上で、民のために焼き尽くすいけにえと、和解のいけにえとをささげなければならない。そうすれば、わたしはあなたがたを受け入れる。」神である主がこう語るのです。
