Jeremiah 26

Early in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came from the Lord:

Sang bag-o pa lang naghari si Jehoyakim nga anak ni Josia sa Juda, nagsiling ang Ginoo sa akon, “Magtindog ka sa lagwerta sang akon templo kag maghambal sa tanan nga katawhan sang mga banwa sang Juda nga nagakadto diri sa akon templo sa pagsimba. Isugid sa ila ang tanan nga isugo ko sa imo, kag indi mo gid ini pagbuhinan.

“This is what the Lord says: Stand in the courtyard of the Lord’s house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the Lord. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.

Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

Basi pa lang mamati sila sa imo kag magbiya sa ila malaot nga pagginawi. Kon himuon nila ina, indi ko pagpadayunon ang kalaglagan nga ginplano ko nga himuon sa ila tungod sa ila malaot nga mga ginahimo.

Say to them, ‘This is what the Lord says: If you do not listen to me and follow my law, which I have set before you,

Silinga sila nga amo ini ang akon ginasiling: Kon indi kamo magpamati sa akon kag magtuman sa akon kasuguan nga ginhatag ko sa inyo,

and if you do not listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent to you again and again (though you have not listened),

kag kon indi kamo magpamati sa ginasiling sang akon mga alagad nga mga propeta, nga permi ko ginapadala sa inyo pero wala ninyo ginapamatii,

then I will make this house like Shiloh and this city a curse^[a] among all the nations of the earth.’”

laglagon ko ini nga templo, subong nga ginlaglag ko ang Shilo. Kag ini nga siyudad pakamalauton sang tanan nga nasyon sa bug-os nga kalibutan.”

The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of the Lord.

Ang mga pari, mga propeta, kag ang tanan nga tawo nakabati sining mga ginhambal ni Jeremias sa templo sang Ginoo.

But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the Lord had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, “You must die!

Pero pagkatapos hambal ni Jeremias sini, ginlibutan siya sang mga pari, mga propeta kag mga tawo, kag ginsilingan, “Dapat ka nga mapatay!

Why do you prophesy in the Lord’s name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?” And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

Ngaa nagsiling ka sa ngalan sang Ginoo nga ining templo laglagon pareho sang Shilo, kag ining siyudad mangin mamingaw kag indi na pag-estaran?” Gani gindakop nila si Jeremias didto sa templo sang Ginoo.

When the officials of Judah heard about these things, they went up from the royal palace to the house of the Lord and took their places at the entrance of the New Gate of the Lord’s house.

Sang mabatian ini sang mga opisyal sang Juda, naghalin sila sa palasyo kag nagkadto sa templo. Nagpungko sila didto sa alagyan sang Bag-o nga Puwertahan sang templo sa paghukom.

Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people, “This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!”

Dayon nagsiling ang mga pari kag mga propeta sa mga opisyal kag sa tanan nga tawo didto, “Ini nga tawo dapat nga sentensyahan sang kamatayon tungod kay naghambal siya kontra sa sini nga siyudad. Kamo mismo ang nakabati sa iya!”

Then Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people: “The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things you have heard.

Nagsiling si Jeremias sa tanan nga opisyal kag sa tanan nga tawo didto: “Ginpadala ako sang Ginoo sa paghambal kontra sa sini nga templo kag siyudad, subong sang inyo nabatian.

Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the Lord your God. Then the Lord will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you.

Gani magbag-o na kamo sa inyo pagginawi kag pamatasan, kag magtuman sa Ginoo nga inyo Dios. Kay kon himuon ninyo ina, indi pagpadayunon sang Ginoo ang kalaglagan nga iya ginsiling kontra sa inyo.

As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right.

Kon parte sa akon, wala ako sing may mahimo. Himua ninyo sa akon kon ano ang maayo kag husto para sa inyo.

Be assured, however, that if you put me to death, you will bring the guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those who live in it, for in truth the Lord has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.”

Pero tandai ninyo ini: kon patyon ninyo ako, may salabton kamo kag ang mga tawo sa sini nga siyudad tungod sa inyo pagpatay sa tawo nga wala sing sala, kay sa pagkamatuod ginpadala ako sang Ginoo sa paghambal sining tanan nga butang nga inyo nabatian subong.”

Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, “This man should not be sentenced to death! He has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.”

Dayon nagsiling ang mga opisyal kag ang mga tawo sa mga pari kag mga propeta, “Ini nga tawo indi dapat sentensyahan sang kamatayon, kay naghambal siya sa aton sa ngalan sang Ginoo nga aton Dios.”

Some of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire assembly of people,

May pila ka manugdumala nga nagtindog sa atubangan kag nagsiling sa bug-os nga katilingban,

“Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“Sang si Hezekia ang hari sang Juda, si Micas nga taga-Moreshet nagsugid sang mensahi sang Ginoo sa tanan nga katawhan sang Juda. Siling niya, ‘Nagsiling ang Ginoo nga Makagagahom nga pagalaglagon ang Zion, ang siyudad sang Jerusalem. Mangin pareho ini sa gin-arado nga uma, kag mangin tinumpukan sang mga nagkalaguba. Kag mangin kagulangan ang bukid nga ginatindugan sang templo.’

“Did Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did not Hezekiah fear the Lord and seek his favor? And did not the Lord relent, so that he did not bring the disaster he pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!”

Ginpatay bala siya ni Hezekia ukon sang bisan sin-o sa Juda? Wala! Sa baylo, nagtahod si Hezekia sa Ginoo kag nagdangop sa iya. Gani wala pagpadayuna sang Ginoo ang kalaglagan nga iya ginsiling kontra sa ila. Karon, kon patyon ninyo si Jeremias, kamo mismo ang magadala sang grabe nga silot sa inyo kaugalingon.”

(Now Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath Jearim was another man who prophesied in the name of the Lord; he prophesied the same things against this city and this land as Jeremiah did.

Sadto nga tion, may isa man ka tawo nga nagasugid sang mensahi sang Ginoo. Ang iya ngalan si Uria nga anak ni Shemaya nga taga-Kiriat Jearim. Naghambal man siya kontra sa sini nga siyudad kag nasyon pareho sang ginsiling ni Jeremias.

When King Jehoiakim and all his officers and officials heard his words, the king was determined to put him to death. But Uriah heard of it and fled in fear to Egypt.

Sang mabatian ni Haring Jehoyakim kag sang tanan niya nga mga opisyal kag mga pangulo ang ginsiling ni Uria, gintinguhaan nila nga patyon siya. Pero nabalitaan ini ni Uria, gani nagpalagyo siya sa Egipto tungod sa kahadlok.

King Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan son of Akbor to Egypt, along with some other men.

Pero ginsugo ni Haring Jehoyakim si Elnatan nga anak ni Acbor kag ang iban pa nga mga tawo sa pagkadto sa Egipto.

They brought Uriah out of Egypt and took him to King Jehoiakim, who had him struck down with a sword and his body thrown into the burial place of the common people.)

Ginkuha nila si Uria didto kag gindala kay Haring Jehoyakim, kag ginpapatay siya ni Haring Jehoyakim paagi sa espada kag ginpahaboy ang iya bangkay sa pampubliko nga lulubngan.

Furthermore, Ahikam son of Shaphan supported Jeremiah, and so he was not handed over to the people to be put to death.

Pero si Jeremias iya ginbuligan ni Ahikam nga anak ni Shafan, gani wala siya gintugyan sa mga tawo agod patyon.
