Deuteronomy 14

You are the children of the Lord your God. Do not cut yourselves or shave the front of your heads for the dead,

“Mga anak kamo sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios. Gani kon magpangasubo kamo sa patay, indi ninyo pagpilasan ang inyo kaugalingon ukon pagkiskisan ang inyo ulo.

for you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.

Kay katawhan kamo nga ginseparar para sa Ginoo nga inyo Dios. Sa tanan nga tawo sa kalibutan, kamo ang ginpili sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios nga mangin iya espesyal nga katawhan.

Ang mga Sapat nga Ginakabig nga Matinlo kag Mahigko

Do not eat any detestable thing.

“Indi kamo magkaon sang bisan ano nga sapat nga ginakabig nga mahigko.

These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,

Amo ini ang mga sapat nga puwede ninyo kaunon: baka, karnero, kanding,

the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope and the mountain sheep.^[a]

usa, talunon nga kanding, talunon nga karnero kag iban pa nga klase sang usa.^[a]

You may eat any animal that has a divided hoof and that chews the cud.

Puwede ninyo kaunon ang bisan ano nga sapat nga nagapihak ang ila kuko kag nagausang liwat sang ila kinaon.

However, of those that chew the cud or that have a divided hoof you may not eat the camel, the rabbit or the hyrax. Although they chew the cud, they do not have a divided hoof; they are ceremonially unclean for you.

Pero indi ninyo pagkaunon ang mga sapat nga nagausang liwat sang ila kinaon pero wala nagapihak ang ila kuko, pareho sang kamelyo, koneho kag badier.^[b] Ini nga mga sapat kabigon ninyo nga mahigko.

The pig is also unclean; although it has a divided hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.

Indi man ninyo pagkaunon ang baboy, kay bisan tuod nga nagapihak ang iya kuko wala ini nagausang liwat sang iya kinaon. Indi gid kamo magkaon sang sini nga mga sapat ukon magtandog sang ila patay nga mga lawas.

Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales.

“Puwede ninyo kaunon ang bisan ano nga sapat nga nagakabuhi sa tubig nga may mga sirik kag mga himbis.

But anything that does not have fins and scales you may not eat; for you it is unclean.

Pero indi gid ninyo pagkaunon ang wala sing sirik kag himbis. Kabigon ninyo ini nga mahigko.

You may eat any clean bird.

Puwede ninyo kaunon ang bisan ano nga klase sang pispis nga ginakabig nga matinlo.

But these you may not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture,

Pero indi gid ninyo pagkaunon ang mga agila, mga uwak, mga pispis nga nagakaon sang bangkay sang tawo ukon sapat, mga dapay, mga bukaw, mga murugmon, mga pispis nga nagapangdagit sang mga isda, mga tulabong, mga dugwak^[c] kag mga kabog.

the red kite, the black kite, any kind of falcon,

any kind of raven,

the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,

the little owl, the great owl, the white owl,

the desert owl, the osprey, the cormorant,

the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.

All flying insects are unclean to you; do not eat them.

Indi man ninyo pagkaunon ang mga sapat-sapat nga nagalupad.

But any winged creature that is clean you may eat.

Pero puwede ninyo kaunon ang mga sapat nga nagalupad nga ginakabig nga matinlo.

Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to the foreigner residing in any of your towns, and they may eat it, or you may sell it to any other foreigner. But you are a people holy to the Lord your God.

Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.

Tithes

“Indi ninyo pagkaunon ang bisan ano nga sapat nga patay na. Puwede ninyo ini ihatag ukon ibaligya sa mga indi Israelinhon nga nagaestar sa inyo mga banwa, kag ila ini kaunon. Pero kamo iya indi gid magkaon sini, kay ginseparar kamo nga katawhan para sa Ginoo nga inyo Dios.

“Indi ninyo paglutua ang tinday nga kanding sa gatas sang iya inang.

Ang Inyo Ikanapulo

Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year.

“Kinahanglan nga painon ninyo ang ikanapulo sang tanan nga patubas sang inyo uma kada tuig.

Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always.

Dal-a ninyo ang ikanapulo sang inyo mga uyas, duga sang ubas, lana, kag ang kamagulangan sang inyo mga kasapatan sa lugar nga pilion sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios nga sa diin padunggan siya. Kag didto ninyo ini kaunon sa iya presensya. Himuon ninyo ini agod makahibalo kamo magtahod permi sa Ginoo nga inyo Dios.

But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away),

Pero kon malayo gani sa inyo ang amo nga lugar nga pilion sang Ginoo, kag mabudlayan kamo sa pagdala sang ikanapulo sang mga pagpakamaayo sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios,

then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose.

bayluhan ninyo ang inyo ikanapulo sang kuwarta kag dal-on ninyo ang kuwarta didto sa lugar nga pilion sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios.

Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.

Dayon ibakal ninyo ang kuwarta sang baka, karnero, bino, ukon sang bisan ano nga inyo naluyagan. Dayon kaunon ninyo ini sang inyo pamilya sa presensya sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios kag magkinalipay.

And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.

Kag indi ninyo pagkalimtan ang mga Levita nga nagaestar sa inyo mga banwa, kay wala sila sing duta nga palanublion.

At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns,

“Sa katapusan sang kada ikatlo nga tuig, tipuna ninyo ang ikanapulo sang inyo patubas sa amo nga tuig, kag dal-a ini sa ginataguan sini sa inyo mga banwa.

so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Ihatag ninyo ini sa mga Levita (nga wala sing duta nga palanublion), sa mga indi Israelinhon, sa mga ilo, kag sa mga balo nga babayi nga nagaestar sa inyo mga banwa agod makakaon man sila kag mabusog. Kon himuon ninyo ini, pakamaayuhon kamo sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios sa tanan ninyo nga ginahimo.
