Matthew 14

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus,

В то время об Исе услышал и правитель Ирод^[a].

and he said to his attendants, “This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”

Он говорил своим приближённым:

– Это пророк Яхия. Он воскрес из мёртвых, и поэтому в Нём такая чудодейственная сила.

Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,

В своё время Ирод арестовал Яхию, связал его и бросил в темницу из-за Иродиады, жены своего брата Филиппа^[b],

for John had been saying to him: “It is not lawful for you to have her.”

потому что Яхия говорил ему: «Нельзя тебе жить с ней».^[c]

Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people, because they considered John a prophet.

Ирод хотел убить Яхию, но боялся народа, так как все считали его пророком.

On Herod’s birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for the guests and pleased Herod so much

И вот, когда Ирод праздновал свой день рождения, дочь Иродиады танцевала перед гостями и так понравилась Ироду,

that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked.

что он поклялся дать ей всё, чего бы она ни попросила.

Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.”

Наученная своей матерью девушка сказала:

– Подай мне сюда на блюде голову пророка Яхии.

The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted

Царь опечалился, но, так как он поклялся перед возлежавшими за столом гостями, то велел исполнить её желание.

and had John beheaded in the prison.

По его приказу Яхии отрубили в темнице голову,

His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother.

принесли её на блюде и отдали девушке, а та отнесла её матери.

John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.

Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

Ученики Яхии, забрав тело, похоронили его, а затем пошли и рассказали обо всём Исе.

Насыщение более пяти тысяч человек

When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns.

Услышав о судьбе Яхии, Иса переправился на лодке в пустынное место, чтобы побыть одному. Но люди из окрестных городов узнали, куда Он отправился, и пошли туда пешком.

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

Когда Иса сошёл на берег и увидел большую толпу, Он сжалился над людьми, и исцелил больных, которые были среди них.

As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

Наступил вечер. Ученики Исы подошли к Нему и сказали:

– Место здесь пустынное, и уже поздно, отпусти людей, чтобы они успели дойти до ближайших посёлков и купить себе еды.

Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

Иса ответил:

– Им не нужно уходить отсюда. Вы дайте им есть.

“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.

– Но у нас только пять лепёшек и две рыбы, – ответили ученики.

“Bring them here to me,” he said.

– Принесите всё это ко Мне, – сказал Иса.

And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.

Он велел народу расположиться на траве, взял эти пять лепёшек и две рыбы и, подняв глаза к небу, благословил пищу. Затем Он стал разламывать лепёшки и давать их Своим ученикам, а те – народу.

They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

Все ели и насытились, и собрали ещё двенадцать полных корзин остатков.

The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Jesus Walks on the Water

Всего же ело пять тысяч мужчин, не считая женщин и детей.

Хождение Исы Масиха по воде

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.

Сразу после этого Иса велел ученикам сесть в лодку и переправиться на другую сторону озера, а Сам Он оставался, пока не отпустил народ.

After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone,

А когда народ разошёлся, Иса поднялся на гору помолиться. Наступил вечер, и Иса оставался на горе один.

and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

Тем временем лодка была уже далеко от берега. Её били волны, так как дул встречный ветер.

Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.

Уже перед рассветом Иса пошёл к ученикам, ступая по озеру.

When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

Но ученики, увидев Его идущим по воде, очень испугались.

– Это призрак! – закричали они от страха.

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

Но Иса сразу же заговорил с ними:

– Успокойтесь, это Я, не бойтесь.

“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

– Повелитель, если это Ты, – сказал тогда Петир, – то разреши мне прийти к Тебе по воде.

“Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

– Иди, – сказал Иса.

Петир вышел из лодки и пошёл по воде к Исе.

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Но увидев, как сильно дует ветер, он испугался и, начав тонуть, закричал:

– Повелитель, спаси меня!

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Иса тотчас протянул руку и поддержал его.

– Маловерный, – сказал Он, – зачем же ты стал сомневаться?

And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

Когда они вошли в лодку, ветер утих.

Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Все, кто был в лодке, поклонились Исе.

– Ты действительно (вечный) Сын Всевышнего, – сказали они.

Исцеление больных в Генисарете

When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.

Переправившись на другую сторону озера, они сошли на берег в Генисарете.

And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him

Местные жители узнали Ису и разнесли весть о Его приходе по всей округе. К Исе принесли всех больных

and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.

и просили Его, чтобы Он позволил им прикоснуться лишь к кисточке на краю Его одежды^[d]. И все, кто прикасался, выздоравливали.
