Verse 1

This is what the Lord says: “Go down to the palace of the king of Judah and proclaim this message there:

Так говорит Вечный:

– Иди ко дворцу царя Иудеи и возвести там:

Verse 2

‘Hear the word of the Lord to you, king of Judah, you who sit on David’s throne—you, your officials and your people who come through these gates.

Слушай слово Вечного, царь Иудеи, сидящий на престоле Давуда, ты, твои приближённые и твой народ, который проходит через эти ворота.

Verse 3

This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.

Так говорит Вечный: «Делайте то, что справедливо и праведно. Помогайте обездоленному спастись от рук притеснителя. Не обижайте и не притесняйте чужеземцев, сирот и вдов и не проливайте в этом краю невинной крови.

Verse 4

For if you are careful to carry out these commands, then kings who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people.

Если вы будете точно исполнять эти повеления, то через ворота этого дворца на колесницах и на конях будут въезжать цари, которые сидят на престоле Давуда, – они сами, их приближённые и их народ.

Verse 5

But if you do not obey these commands, declares the Lord, I swear by myself that this palace will become a ruin.’”

Но если вы не будете исполнять эти повеления, – возвещает Вечный, – то клянусь Собой, этот дворец превратится в руины».

Verse 6

For this is what the Lord says about the palace of the king of Judah:

“Though you are like Gilead to me,
like the summit of Lebanon,
I will surely make you like a wasteland,
like towns not inhabited.

Ведь так говорит Вечный о дворце царя Иудеи:

– Ты для Меня прекрасен, как Галаад,
как вершина Ливана,^[a]
но клянусь, Я превращу тебя в пустыню,
в необитаемый город.

Verse 7

I will send destroyers against you,
each man with his weapons,
and they will cut up your fine cedar beams
and throw them into the fire.

Я пошлю к тебе разорителей,
каждого – с оружием,
и они порубят твои лучшие кедры
и бросят в огонь.

Verse 8

“People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this great city?’

– Люди разных народов будут проходить мимо этого города и спрашивать друг друга: «За что Вечный поступил так с этим великим городом?»

Verse 9

And the answer will be: ‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and have worshiped and served other gods.’”

И будут им отвечать: «За то, что они нарушили соглашение Вечного, их Бога, и стали поклоняться чужим богам и служить им».

Verse 10

Do not weep for the dead king or mourn his loss;
rather, weep bitterly for him who is exiled,
because he will never return
nor see his native land again.

Не плачьте об умершем и не скорбите о нём;
плачьте лучше о том, кто уходит в плен,
потому что он не вернётся
и не увидит родной земли.

Verse 11

For this is what the Lord says about Shallum^[a] son of Josiah, who succeeded his father as king of Judah but has gone from this place: “He will never return.

Ведь так говорит Вечный об Иоахазе^[b], сыне Иосии, который стал царём Иудеи после своего отца, но был уведён в плен в Египет:

– Он больше не вернётся.

Verse 12

He will die in the place where they have led him captive; he will not see this land again.”

Он умрёт там, куда его увели в плен, и не увидит больше этой земли.

Verse 13

“Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness,
his upper rooms by injustice,
making his own people work for nothing,
not paying them for their labor.

– Горе тому, кто строит свой дворец несправедливостью,
его верхние комнаты – беззаконием,
заставляя соплеменников трудиться даром,
не оплачивая их труд,

Verse 14

He says, ‘I will build myself a great palace
    with spacious upper rooms.’
So he makes large windows in it,
    panels it with cedar
    and decorates it in red.

кто говорит: «Я построю себе дом просторный,
    с большими верхними комнатами» –
и прорубает в нём окна,
    и кедром его обшивает,
    и красной краской покрывает.

Verse 15

“Does it make you a king
    to have more and more cedar?
Did not your father have food and drink?
    He did what was right and just,
    so all went well with him.

Оттого ли ты царь,
    что более других строишь из кедра?
Вспомни своего отца:
    он и ел, и пил,
но делал то, что правильно и справедливо,
    и поэтому жил в благополучии.

Verse 16

He defended the cause of the poor and needy,
and so all went well.
Is that not what it means to know me?”
declares the Lord.

Он разбирал дела бедных и нищих,
и поэтому жил в благополучии.
Не это ли значит знать Меня? –
возвещает Вечный. –

Verse 17

“But your eyes and your heart
are set only on dishonest gain,
on shedding innocent blood
and on oppression and extortion.”

Но твои глаза и твоё сердце
желают лишь наживы,
желают проливать невинную кровь,
угнетать и вымогать.

Verse 18

Therefore this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:

“They will not mourn for him:
‘Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!’
They will not mourn for him:
‘Alas, my master! Alas, his splendor!’

Поэтому так говорит Вечный об Иоакиме, сыне Иосии, царе Иудеи:

– Его не будут оплакивать:
«Увы, мой брат!» или «Увы, моя сестра!»
Его не будут оплакивать:
«Увы, мой господин! Увы, его величество!»

Verse 19

He will have the burial of a donkey—
dragged away and thrown
outside the gates of Jerusalem.”

Его похоронят так, как избавляются от дохлого осла:
вытащат и выкинут за ворота Иерусалима.

Verse 20

“Go up to Lebanon and cry out,
let your voice be heard in Bashan,
cry out from Abarim,
for all your allies are crushed.

Иерусалим, поднимись на Ливан и закричи,
пусть твой голос звучит с Башана,
закричи с Аварима^[c] –
все твои союзники уничтожены.

Verse 21

I warned you when you felt secure,
but you said, ‘I will not listen!’
This has been your way from your youth;
you have not obeyed me.

Я предупреждал тебя, когда ты благоденствовал,
но ты сказал: «Я не стану слушать!»
Так ты поступал с самой юности;
ты Меня не слушал.

Verse 22

The wind will drive all your shepherds away,
and your allies will go into exile.
Then you will be ashamed and disgraced
because of all your wickedness.

Вихрь унесёт твоих пастухов,
в плен уведут твоих союзников,
и будешь ты постыжен и опозорен
из-за всех своих злодеяний.

Verse 23

You who live in ‘Lebanon,^[b]’
who are nestled in cedar buildings,
how you will groan when pangs come upon you,
pain like that of a woman in labor!

Ты, живущий во Дворце Ливана^[d],
угнездившийся в кедрах,
о, как ты застонешь, когда пронзит тебя боль,
боль, как у женщины при родах!

Verse 24

“As surely as I live,” declares the Lord, “even if you, Jehoiachin^[c] son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, were a signet ring on my right hand, I would still pull you off.

– Верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Вечный, – даже если бы ты, Иехония, сын Иоакима, царь Иудеи, был перстнем с печатью^[e] на Моей правой руке, Я сорвал бы тебя и оттуда.

Verse 25

I will deliver you into the hands of those who want to kill you, those you fear—Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and the Babylonians.^[d]

Я отдам тебя в руки тех, кто жаждет твоей смерти, – Навуходоносору, царю Вавилона, и вавилонянам.

Verse 26

I will hurl you and the mother who gave you birth into another country, where neither of you was born, and there you both will die.

Я изгоню тебя и женщину, родившую тебя, в чужую страну, в которой вы не родились, но вы умрёте там.

Verse 27

You will never come back to the land you long to return to.”

А в страну, в которую вы желаете вернуться, вы не вернётесь.

Verse 28

Is this man Jehoiachin a despised, broken pot,
an object no one wants?
Why will he and his children be hurled out,
cast into a land they do not know?

Разве этот человек, Иехония,
    презренный разбитый горшок,
    ненужный сосуд?
Почему он и его дети изгнаны,
    заброшены в землю, которой они не знают?

Verse 29

O land, land, land,
hear the word of the Lord!

О, земля, земля, земля,
слушай слово Вечного!

Verse 30

This is what the Lord says:
“Record this man as if childless,
    a man who will not prosper in his lifetime,
for none of his offspring will prosper,
    none will sit on the throne of David
    or rule anymore in Judah.”

Так говорит Вечный:

– Запишите этого человека бездетным,
    человеком, которому не будет в жизни благополучия;
    у всех его потомков не будет благополучия:
ни один не сядет на престол Давуда
    и не будет править Иудеей.
