Verse 1

Then Jacob called for his sons and said: “Gather around so I can tell you what will happen to you in days to come.

Якуб вызвал своих сыновей и сказал:

– Соберитесь вокруг, и я поведаю, что станет с вами в грядущие дни.

Verse 2

“Assemble and listen, sons of Jacob;
listen to your father Israel.

Соберитесь и слушайте, сыновья Якуба;
внимайте своему отцу Исраилу.

Verse 3

“Reuben, you are my firstborn,
my might, the first sign of my strength,
excelling in honor, excelling in power.

Рувим, ты – мой первенец, моя мощь,
первый плод моей силы мужской,
первый по праву, первый по силе.

Verse 4

Turbulent as the waters, you will no longer excel,
for you went up onto your father’s bed,
onto my couch and defiled it.

Непостоянный, как вода, ты больше не будешь первым,
потому что ты возлёг на постель своего отца
и осквернил моё ложе.

Verse 5

“Simeon and Levi are brothers—
their swords^[a] are weapons of violence.

Шимон и Леви, братья:
их мечи – орудие насилия.

Verse 6

Let me not enter their council,
let me not join their assembly,
for they have killed men in their anger
and hamstrung oxen as they pleased.

Да не буду я участвовать в их замыслах,
да не присоединюсь к их собранию,
потому что они убивали мужчин в своём гневе
и подрезали жилы быкам по своей прихоти.

Verse 7

Cursed be their anger, so fierce,
and their fury, so cruel!
I will scatter them in Jacob
and disperse them in Israel.

Проклят их гнев, потому что свиреп,
и ярость их, потому что она жестока!
Я разбросаю их среди потомков Якуба,
рассею их в Исраиле.

Verse 8

“Judah,^[b] your brothers will praise you;
your hand will be on the neck of your enemies;
your father’s sons will bow down to you.

Иуда, твои братья восхвалят тебя;^[a]
рука твоя будет на шее твоих врагов;
сыновья твоего отца будут кланяться тебе.

Verse 9

You are a lion’s cub, Judah;
you return from the prey, my son.
Like a lion he crouches and lies down,
like a lioness—who dares to rouse him?

Ты молодой лев, Иуда;
ты возвращаешься с добычи, мой сын.
Как лев, ты припадаешь к земле и ложишься,
как львица – кто осмелится тебя потревожить?

Verse 10

The scepter will not depart from Judah,
nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet,^[c]
until he to whom it belongs^[d] shall come
and the obedience of the nations shall be his.

Скипетр не покинет Иуду,
и потомки его всегда будут держать жезл правителей,
пока не придёт Тот, Кому он принадлежит,^[b]
Тот, Кому покорятся все народы.^[c]

Verse 11

He will tether his donkey to a vine,
his colt to the choicest branch;
he will wash his garments in wine,
his robes in the blood of grapes.

Он привяжет своего осла к виноградной лозе,
своего ослёнка – к лучшей ветке;
он омоет одежды свои в вине,
одеяние своё – в крови винограда.

Verse 12

His eyes will be darker than wine,
his teeth whiter than milk.^[e]

Глаза его будут темнее вина,
зубы его – молока белее.

Verse 13

“Zebulun will live by the seashore
and become a haven for ships;
his border will extend toward Sidon.

Завулон будет жить у морского побережья
и будет гаванью для кораблей;
его границы протянутся до Сидона.

Verse 14

“Issachar is a rawboned^[f] donkey
lying down among the sheep pens.^[g]

Иссахар – крепкий^[d] осёл,
лежащий между двумя седельными вьюками.

Verse 15

When he sees how good is his resting place
and how pleasant is his land,
he will bend his shoulder to the burden
and submit to forced labor.

Увидев, как хорошо его место отдыха
и как приятна его земля,
он пригнёт свои плечи под бремя
и покорится подневольному труду.

Verse 16

“Dan^[h] will provide justice for his people
as one of the tribes of Israel.

Дан будет судить свой народ,^[e]
как один из родов Исраила.

Verse 17

Dan will be a snake by the roadside,
a viper along the path,
that bites the horse’s heels
so that its rider tumbles backward.

Дан будет змеем у дорожной обочины,
гадюкой на тропе,
которая кусает коня за ногу,
так что всадник его падает навзничь.

Verse 18

“I look for your deliverance, Lord.

О Вечный, у Тебя ищу я избавления.

Verse 19

“Gad^[i] will be attacked by a band of raiders,
but he will attack them at their heels.

Гада будут грабить грабители,
но он будет грабить их, следом погнавшись.^[f]

Verse 20

“Asher’s food will be rich;
he will provide delicacies fit for a king.

Пища Ашира будет изобильна;
он будет поставлять лакомства, достойные царского стола.

Verse 21

“Naphtali is a doe set free
that bears beautiful fawns.^[j]

Неффалим – выпущенная на свободу олениха,
которая приносит прекрасных оленят^[g].

Verse 22

“Joseph is a fruitful vine,
a fruitful vine near a spring,
whose branches climb over a wall.^[k]

Юсуф – плодородная виноградная лоза,
плодородная лоза близ источника,
чьи ветви поднимаются по стене.

Verse 23

With bitterness archers attacked him;
they shot at him with hostility.

С ожесточением лучники нападали на него;
они стреляли в него с враждой.

Verse 24

But his bow remained steady,
his strong arms stayed^[l] limber,
because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob,
because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

Но лук его остался упругим,
его сильные руки остались гибкими
от руки могучего Бога Якуба,
от Защитника^[h], Скалы Исраила,

Verse 25

because of your father’s God, who helps you,
    because of the Almighty,^[m] who blesses you
with blessings of the skies above,
    blessings of the deep springs below,
    blessings of the breast and womb.

от Бога твоего отца, Который помогает тебе,
    от Всемогущего, Который благословляет тебя
обильными дождями с небес,
    ручьями, бегущими из земли,
    множеством потомков и бесчисленными стадами.

Verse 26

Your father’s blessings are greater
    than the blessings of the ancient mountains,
    than^[n] the bounty of the age-old hills.
Let all these rest on the head of Joseph,
    on the brow of the prince among^[o] his brothers.

Благословения твоего отца
    превосходят благословения древних гор,
    щедрость древних холмов.
Да будут все они на голове Юсуфа,
    на челе князя между своими братьями.

Verse 27

“Benjamin is a ravenous wolf;
in the morning he devours the prey,
in the evening he divides the plunder.”

Вениамин – прожорливый волк;
утром он пожирает добычу,
вечером делит награбленное добро.

Verse 28

All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them, giving each the blessing appropriate to him.

The Death of Jacob

Вот каковы двенадцать родов Исраила, и вот что сказал им отец, благословляя их; каждого он наделил подобающим благословением.

Verse 29

Then he gave them these instructions: “I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

Он дал им такой наказ:

– Я отхожу к моим предкам. Похороните меня с моими отцами в пещере на поле хетта Эфрона,

Verse 30

the cave in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre in Canaan, which Abraham bought along with the field as a burial place from Ephron the Hittite.

в пещере на поле Махпела, рядом с Мамре, в Ханаане, которую Ибрахим купил как погребальное место у хетта Эфрона вместе с полем.

Verse 31

There Abraham and his wife Sarah were buried, there Isaac and his wife Rebekah were buried, and there I buried Leah.

Там были похоронены Ибрахим и его жена Сарра, там были похоронены Исхак и его жена Рабига, и там я похоронил Лию.

Verse 32

The field and the cave in it were bought from the Hittites.^[p]”

Поле и пещера на нём были куплены у хеттов^[i].

Verse 33

When Jacob had finished giving instructions to his sons, he drew his feet up into the bed, breathed his last and was gathered to his people.

Закончив давать наставления сыновьям, Якуб лёг на постель, испустил дух и отошёл к своим предкам.
