Verse 1

These are the family heads and those registered with them who came up with me from Babylon during the reign of King Artaxerxes:

Verse 2

of the descendants of Phinehas, Gershom;

of the descendants of Ithamar, Daniel;

of the descendants of David, Hattush

Verse 3

of the descendants of Shekaniah;

of the descendants of Parosh, Zechariah, and with him were registered 150 men;

сын Шехании;

из потомков Пароша – Закария, и с ним по родословному списку было 150 мужчин;

Verse 4

of the descendants of Pahath-Moab, Eliehoenai son of Zerahiah, and with him 200 men;

Verse 5

of the descendants of Zattu,^[a] Shekaniah son of Jahaziel, and with him 300 men;

Verse 6

of the descendants of Adin, Ebed son of Jonathan, and with him 50 men;

of the descendants of Elam, Jeshaiah son of Athaliah, and with him 70 men;

of the descendants of Shephatiah, Zebadiah son of Michael, and with him 80 men;

of the descendants of Joab, Obadiah son of Jehiel, and with him 218 men;

Verse 10

of the descendants of Bani,^[b] Shelomith son of Josiphiah, and with him 160 men;

Verse 11

of the descendants of Bebai, Zechariah son of Bebai, and with him 28 men;

Verse 12

of the descendants of Azgad, Johanan son of Hakkatan, and with him 110 men;

Verse 13

of the descendants of Adonikam, the last ones, whose names were Eliphelet, Jeuel and Shemaiah, and with them 60 men;

Verse 14

of the descendants of Bigvai, Uthai and Zakkur, and with them 70 men.

The Return to Jerusalem

из потомков Бигвая – Утай и Заккур, и с ними 70 мужчин.

Verse 15

I assembled them at the canal that flows toward Ahava, and we camped there three days. When I checked among the people and the priests, I found no Levites there.

Я собрал их у реки, которая течёт в сторону Ахавы, где мы разбили лагерь и провели там три дня. Когда я осмотрел народ и священнослужителей, то не нашёл среди них ни одного левита.

Verse 16

So I summoned Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah and Meshullam, who were leaders, and Joiarib and Elnathan, who were men of learning,

Тогда я позвал Элиезера, Ариила, Шемаю, Элнафана, Иарива, Элнафана, Нафана, Закарию и Мешуллама, которые были вождями, и учёных – Иоярива и Элнафана,

Verse 17

and I ordered them to go to Iddo, the leader in Kasiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his fellow Levites, the temple servants in Kasiphia, so that they might bring attendants to us for the house of our God.

и отправил их к Иддо, вождю в Касифии. Я велел им передать Иддо и его родственникам, храмовым слугам в Касифии, чтобы они привели к нам служителей для дома нашего Бога.

Verse 18

Because the gracious hand of our God was on us, they brought us Sherebiah, a capable man, from the descendants of Mahli son of Levi, the son of Israel, and Sherebiah’s sons and brothers, 18 in all;

Так как милостивая рука нашего Бога была над нами, они привели к нам Шеревию, способного человека, из потомков Махли, сына Леви, сына Исраила, и сыновей и братьев Шеревии – восемнадцать мужчин;

Verse 19

and Hashabiah, together with Jeshaiah from the descendants of Merari, and his brothers and nephews, 20 in all.

и Хашавию, вместе с Иешаей из потомков Мерари, и его братьев и племянников – двадцать мужчин.

Verse 20

They also brought 220 of the temple servants—a body that David and the officials had established to assist the Levites. All were registered by name.

Они также привели двести двадцать храмовых слуг – группу служителей, которых Давуд и чиновники отдали в помощь левитам. Все они были записаны поимённо.

Verse 21

There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions.

Там, у реки Ахавы, я объявил пост, чтобы мы могли смирить себя перед нашим Богом и попросить Его о безопасном путешествии для нас и наших детей со всем нашим имуществом.

Verse 22

I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to protect us from enemies on the road, because we had told the king, “The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him.”

Мне было стыдно просить у царя войска и всадников для нашей защиты от врагов в пути, потому что мы уже сказали царю: «Милостивая рука нашего Бога на каждом, кто ищет Его, но Его великий гнев на всех, кто покидает Его».

Verse 23

So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer.

Итак, мы постились и просили нашего Бога об этом, и Он ответил на нашу молитву.

Verse 24

Then I set apart twelve of the leading priests, namely, Sherebiah, Hashabiah and ten of their brothers,

Затем я отделил двенадцать главных священнослужителей: Шеревию вместе с Хашавией и десять других из их братьев,

Verse 25

and I weighed out to them the offering of silver and gold and the articles that the king, his advisers, his officials and all Israel present there had donated for the house of our God.

и, взвесив, я отдал им пожертвованное серебро, и золото, и предметы, которые царь, его советники, его чиновники и все находившиеся там исраильтяне отдали для дома нашего Бога.

Verse 26

I weighed out to them 650 talents^[c] of silver, silver articles weighing 100 talents,^[d] 100 talents^[e] of gold,

Взвесив, я отдал им 23 400 килограммов серебра, серебряных предметов весом в 3 600 килограммов, золота – 3 600 килограммов^[a],

Verse 27

20 bowls of gold valued at 1,000 darics,^[f] and two fine articles of polished bronze, as precious as gold.

20 золотых чаш стоимостью в 1 000 золотых монет^[b] и два сосуда из лучшей блестящей латуни, ценимой как золото.

Verse 28

I said to them, “You as well as these articles are consecrated to the Lord. The silver and gold are a freewill offering to the Lord, the God of your ancestors.

И я сказал им:

– Вы, также как и все эти предметы, посвящены Вечному. Серебро и золото – добровольные пожертвования Вечному, Богу ваших предков.

Verse 29

Guard them carefully until you weigh them out in the chambers of the house of the Lord in Jerusalem before the leading priests and the Levites and the family heads of Israel.”

Бережно храните всё это до тех пор, пока не передадите в хранилище дома Вечного в Иерусалиме, взвесив всё на глазах у главных священнослужителей, левитов и глав семейств Исраила.

Verse 30

Then the priests and Levites received the silver and gold and sacred articles that had been weighed out to be taken to the house of our God in Jerusalem.

Затем священнослужители и левиты приняли серебро, и золото, и священные предметы, которые были отданы для того, чтобы их отвезли в дом нашего Бога в Иерусалиме.

Возвращение в Иерусалим

Verse 31

On the twelfth day of the first month we set out from the Ahava Canal to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he protected us from enemies and bandits along the way.

В двенадцатый день первого месяца (19 апреля 458 г. до н. э.) от реки Ахавы мы отправились в путь, чтобы дойти до Иерусалима. Рука нашего Бога была над нами, и Он защитил нас от врагов и разбойников в пути.

Verse 32

So we arrived in Jerusalem, where we rested three days.

Итак, мы пришли в Иерусалим, где отдыхали три дня.

Verse 33

On the fourth day, in the house of our God, we weighed out the silver and gold and the sacred articles into the hands of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest. Eleazar son of Phinehas was with him, and so were the Levites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.

На четвёртый день в доме нашего Бога мы, взвесив серебро, золото и священные предметы, передали их в руки священнослужителя Меремота, сына Урии. С ним был Элеазар, сын Пинхаса, а также левиты – Иозавад, сын Иешуа, и Ноадия, сын Биннуи.

Verse 34

Everything was accounted for by number and weight, and the entire weight was recorded at that time.

Всё было сосчитано по количеству и весу, и в то же время был записан общий вес.

Verse 35

Then the exiles who had returned from captivity sacrificed burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven male lambs and, as a sin offering,^[g] twelve male goats. All this was a burnt offering to the Lord.

Затем пришедшие из плена переселенцы принесли жертвы всесожжения Богу Исраила – двенадцать быков за весь Исраил, девяносто шесть овец, семьдесят семь ягнят мужского пола и двенадцать козлов в жертву за грех. Всё это было принесено в жертву всесожжения Вечному.

Verse 36

They also delivered the king’s orders to the royal satraps and to the governors of Trans-Euphrates, who then gave assistance to the people and to the house of God.

Они также отдали царские приказы царским сатрапам^[c] и наместникам провинции за Евфратом, которые потом оказали поддержку народу и дому Аллаха.
