Ezekiel 14

Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me.

Then the word of the Lord came to me:

И было ко мне слово Вечного:

“Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?

– Смертный, эти люди воздвигли идолов у себя в сердце и положили пред собой свой грех, как преграду, о которую спотыкаются. Следует ли Мне вообще позволять им спрашивать Меня?

Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry.

Говори же с ними и скажи им: Так говорит Владыка Вечный: «Когда кто-либо из исраильтян воздвигает у себя в сердце идолов и кладёт перед собой свой грех, словно преграду, о которую спотыкается, и потом всё же идёт к пророку, то Я, Вечный, Сам отвечу ему так, как заслуживает его вопиющее идолопоклонство,

I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.’

чтобы вернуть к Себе сердца исраильтян, которые оставили Меня ради идолов».

“Therefore say to the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!

Поэтому скажи народу Исраила: Так говорит Владыка Вечный: «Покайтесь! Отвернитесь от идолов и оставьте свои омерзительные обычаи!

“‘When any of the Israelites or any foreigner residing in Israel separate themselves from me and set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet to inquire of me, I the Lord will answer them myself.

Если кто-либо из исраильтян или живущих в Исраиле чужеземцев отвернётся от Меня, воздвигнет у себя в сердце идолов и положит перед собой свой грех, как преграду, о которую спотыкается, но потом всё же пойдёт к пророку, чтобы спросить Меня через него, то Я, Вечный, Сам отвечу ему.

I will set my face against them and make them an example and a byword. I will remove them from my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Я обращу лицо Моё против этого человека и сделаю его уроком и притчей на устах. Я изгоню его из Моего народа. Тогда вы узнаете, что Я – Вечный.

“‘And if the prophet is enticed to utter a prophecy, I the Lord have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.

Если же пророк в заблуждении произносит пророчество, то это потому, что Я, Вечный, ввёл его в заблуждение, и Я подниму на него руку и изгоню его из Моего народа, Исраила.

They will bear their guilt—the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him.

Они понесут свою кару – кара вопрошающего и кара пророка будет равной,

Then the people of Israel will no longer stray from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people, and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

Jerusalem’s Judgment Inescapable

чтобы исраильтяне впредь не уклонялись от Меня и больше не оскверняли себя своими грехами. Тогда они будут Моим народом, а Я буду их Богом», – возвещает Владыка Вечный.

Неизбежность суда

The word of the Lord came to me:

Было ко мне слово Вечного:

“Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its people and their animals,

– Смертный, если страна согрешит против Меня отступничеством, то Я подниму на неё руку, чтобы уничтожить запасы пищи в ней, наслать на неё голод и погубить в ней людей и скот.

even if these three men—Noah, Daniel^[a] and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord.

Даже если бы Нух^[a], Даниял и Аюб, эти трое, были в ней, то они спасли бы своей праведностью только свои жизни, – возвещает Владыка Вечный. –

“Or if I send wild beasts through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts,

Или если бы Я наслал на эту страну диких зверей для её опустошения, чтобы она пришла в такое запустение, что никто не смог бы пройти по ней из-за зверей,

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate.

то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – что если бы эти трое были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей. Они спаслись бы сами, но страна была бы опустошена.

“Or if I bring a sword against that country and say, ‘Let the sword pass throughout the land,’ and I kill its people and their animals,

Или если бы Я послал на эту страну меч, сказав: «Пусть меч пройдёт по стране и погубит в ней людей и скот»,

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved.

то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – даже если бы эти трое были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей, а спаслись бы лишь сами.

“Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath on it through bloodshed, killing its people and their animals,

Или если бы Я наслал на эту страну мор и излил бы гнев на неё в кровопролитии, губя людей и скот,

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness.

то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – даже если бы Нух, Даниял и Аюб были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей, а спаслись бы лишь сами благодаря своей праведности.

“For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgments—sword and famine and wild beasts and plague—to kill its men and their animals!

Так говорит Владыка Вечный:

– Как же страшно будет, когда Я пошлю на Иерусалим четыре страшных казни: меч, голод, диких зверей и мор, чтобы погубить там людей и скот!

Yet there will be some survivors—sons and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought on Jerusalem—every disaster I have brought on it.

Но в нём останутся и уцелевшие, их сыновья и дочери, которых выведут из него. Они придут к вам, и, увидев их поступки и дела, вы утешитесь о бедствии, которое Я наслал на Иерусалим, о всяком бедствии, которое Я наслал на него.

You will be consoled when you see their conduct and their actions, for you will know that I have done nothing in it without cause, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

Вы утешитесь, увидев их поступки и дела, потому что вы узнаете, что Я ничего не делал в нём без причины, – возвещает Владыка Вечный.
