Exodus 7

Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.

– Смотри, Я сделал так, чтобы ты был как Бог для фараона, а твой брат Харун будет как бы твоим пророком.

You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country.

Говори всё, что Я тебе велю, Харуну, своему брату, а он пусть скажет фараону, чтобы тот отпустил исраильтян из своей страны.

But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt,

Но Я сделаю сердце фараона упрямым, и хотя Я сотворю много чудес и знамений в Египте,

he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites.

он не послушает тебя. Тогда Я обращу руку Мою на Египет и великими судами выведу Мои воинства – Мой народ, исраильтян, – из этой земли.

And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”

Египтяне узнают, что Я – Вечный, когда Я занесу руку над Египтом и выведу оттуда исраильтян.

Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them.

Муса и Харун сделали, как повелел им Вечный.

Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

Aaron’s Staff Becomes a Snake

Мусе было восемьдесят лет, а Харуну восемьдесят три года, когда они говорили с фараоном.

Посох Харуна превращается в змею

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron,

Вечный сказал Мусе и Харуну:

“When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.”

– Когда фараон скажет вам: «Сотворите чудо», скажи Харуну: «Возьми посох и брось его перед фараоном». Посох превратится в змею.

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.

Муса и Харун пришли к фараону и сделали так, как повелел им Вечный. Харун бросил свой посох перед фараоном и его приближёнными, и он превратился в змею.

Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts:

Тогда и фараон позвал мудрецов и чародеев, и египетские колдуны с помощью колдовства сделали то же самое.

Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.

Каждый бросил свой посох, и те превратились в змей; но посох Харуна проглотил их посохи.

Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

The Plague of Blood

Однако сердцем фараона завладело упрямство – он не послушал их, как и говорил Вечный.

Первое наказание: превращение воды в кровь

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go.

Тогда Вечный сказал Мусе:

– Фараон упрям и отказывается отпустить народ.

Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the river. Confront him on the bank of the Nile, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake.

Пойди к фараону утром, когда он выходит к реке. Возьми посох, который превращался в змею, и подожди царя Египта на берегу Нила.

Then say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the wilderness. But until now you have not listened.

Скажи ему: «Вечный, Бог евреев, посылал меня сказать тебе: „Отпусти Мой народ поклониться Мне в пустыне“. Но до сих пор ты не отпустил их.

This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.

Так говорит Вечный: „Теперь ты узнаешь, что Я – Вечный. Посохом, который у меня в руке, я ударю по воде Нила, и вода превратится в кровь.

The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.’”

Рыба в Ниле умрёт, река станет зловонной, и египтяне не смогут пить из неё“».

The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt—over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs—and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels^[a] of wood and stone.”

Вечный сказал Мусе:

– Скажи Харуну: «Возьми посох и протяни руку над водами Египта – над реками и каналами, над прудами и всеми водоёмами: вода в них превратится в кровь. Кровь будет в Египте повсюду, даже в деревянных и каменных сосудах».

Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood.

Муса и Харун сделали, как повелел им Вечный. Он поднял посох на глазах у фараона и его приближённых, ударил по воде Нила, и она превратилась в кровь.

The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.

Рыба в Ниле умерла, и река стала такой зловонной, что египтяне не могли пить из неё. Кровь была повсюду в Египте.

But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh’s heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.

Но египетские чародеи своим колдовством сделали то же самое. И сердцем фараона завладело упрямство. Он не послушал Мусу и Харуна, как и говорил Вечный.

Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart.

Царь Египта развернулся и ушёл во дворец, даже не задумываясь обо всём этом.

And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the river.

The Plague of Frogs

А египтяне стали копать колодцы вдоль Нила, чтобы добыть питьевую воду. Они не могли пить из реки.

Второе наказание: жабы

Seven days passed after the Lord struck the Nile.

С тех пор, как Вечный поразил воду в Ниле, прошло семь дней.
