Acts 20

When the uproar had ended, Paul sent for the disciples and, after encouraging them, said goodbye and set out for Macedonia.

He traveled through that area, speaking many words of encouragement to the people, and finally arrived in Greece,

where he stayed three months. Because some Jews had plotted against him just as he was about to sail for Syria, he decided to go back through Macedonia.

он провёл там три месяца. Когда он собирался отплыть в Сирию, отвергающие Ису иудеи подготовили покушение на него, и он, узнав об этом, решил возвращаться через Македонию.

He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy also, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia.

Его сопровождали Сопатр, сын Пирра, из Береи, фессалоникийцы Аристарх и Секунд, Гай из Дербии, Тиметей, а также Тихик и Трофим из провинции Азия.

These men went on ahead and waited for us at Troas.

Они пошли вперёд и ожидали нас в Троаде.

But we sailed from Philippi after the Festival of Unleavened Bread, and five days later joined the others at Troas, where we stayed seven days.

Eutychus Raised From the Dead at Troas

Мы же после праздника Пресных хлебов отплыли из Филипп и через пять дней присоединились к ним в Троаде. Там мы пробыли семь дней.

Евтих воскрешён из мёртвых

On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.

В первый день недели^[a] мы собрались вместе для преломления хлеба^[b]. Паул беседовал с людьми и, так как он намеревался на следующий день отправиться в путь, его речь затянулась до полуночи.

There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were meeting.

В верхней комнате, где мы собрались, горело много ламп.

Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead.

На окне сидел молодой человек по имени Евтих. Поскольку Паул долго говорил, Евтих погрузился в глубокий сон и упал на землю с третьего этажа. Когда его подняли, он был мёртв.

Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!”

Паул спустился, лёг сверху на молодого человека и обнял его.

– Не бойтесь, – сказал он, – он жив!

Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left.

Паул поднялся наверх, разломил лепёшку и стал есть. На рассвете, закончив говорить, Паул отправился в путь.

The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted.

Paul’s Farewell to the Ephesian Elders

А молодого человека отвели домой живым, и всех это очень обрадовало.

We went on ahead to the ship and sailed for Assos, where we were going to take Paul aboard. He had made this arrangement because he was going there on foot.

Мы сели на корабль и отправились в Асс, намереваясь забрать там Паула. Он сам так распорядился, потому что хотел отправиться по суше.

When he met us at Assos, we took him aboard and went on to Mitylene.

В Ассе он встретил нас, и мы, взяв его на корабль, отправились в Митилину.

The next day we set sail from there and arrived off Chios. The day after that we crossed over to Samos, and on the following day arrived at Miletus.

Отплыв оттуда, мы на следующий день прибыли к Хиосу. Спустя ещё день мы пристали в Самосе, а ещё через день – в Милете.

Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus to avoid spending time in the province of Asia, for he was in a hurry to reach Jerusalem, if possible, by the day of Pentecost.

Паул решил миновать Эфес, чтобы не задерживаться в провинции Азия, так как он спешил, желая успеть в Иерусалим ко дню праздника Жатвы.

From Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus for the elders of the church.

Из Милета Паул послал в Эфес, прося старейшин общины верующих прийти к нему.

When they arrived, he said to them: “You know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I came into the province of Asia.

Когда те пришли, он сказал им:

– Вы знаете, как я жил здесь у вас всё время с первого дня, когда я пришёл в провинцию Азия.

I served the Lord with great humility and with tears and in the midst of severe testing by the plots of my Jewish opponents.

Я со смирением и слезами служил Повелителю Исе, несмотря на все испытания, через которые мне пришлось пройти из-за заговоров отвергающих Его иудеев.

You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.

Я не упускал ничего из того, что было бы полезно вам, проповедуя и уча вас всенародно и по домам.

I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Я говорил и иудеям, и грекам, что они должны в раскаянии обратиться к Аллаху и верить в нашего Повелителя Ису.

“And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.

Сейчас же я, понуждаемый Духом, иду в Иерусалим, не зная, что там со мной будет.

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.

Я знаю лишь, что в каждом городе Святой Дух свидетельствует мне о том, что меня ждут темница и страдания.

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Но я не дорожу своей жизнью, только бы мне пройти мой путь и завершить порученное мне Повелителем Исой служение – возвещать Радостную Весть о благодати Аллаха.

“Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again.

И сейчас я знаю, что все вы, с кем я общался и кому возвещал о Царстве, никогда меня больше не увидите.

Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you.

Поэтому я заявляю сегодня: я не повинен ни в чьей погибели,

For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.

потому что я без утайки возвещал вам всю волю Аллаха.

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God,^[a] which he bought with his own blood.^[b]

Смотрите за собой и за всем стадом, в котором Святой Дух поставил вас руководителями, чтобы вы пасли общину верующих, принадлежащую Аллаху, которую Он приобрёл Себе ценой Своей собственной крови^[c].

I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.

Я знаю, что когда я уйду, к вам придут лютые волки, а они стада не пощадят.

Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

Даже среди вас самих появятся люди, которые станут искажать истину, чтобы увести учеников за собой.

So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.

Поэтому будьте бдительны! Помните, что я целых три года предупреждал со слезами день и ночь каждого из вас.

“Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Сейчас я вверяю вас Аллаху и слову Его благодати, которое может назидать вас и дать вам наследие среди Его святого народа.

I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing.

Я ни от кого не хотел брать ни серебра, ни золота, ни одежды.

You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions.

Вы сами знаете, что я своими руками зарабатывал на свои нужды и на нужды моих спутников.

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

Во всём, что бы я ни делал, я показывал вам пример того, что, так трудясь, мы должны помогать слабым, помня слова Повелителя Исы: «Больше благословения в том, чтобы давать, чем принимать».

When Paul had finished speaking, he knelt down with all of them and prayed.

Сказав это, Паул преклонил вместе со всеми колени и помолился.

They all wept as they embraced him and kissed him.

Все плакали и, обнимая Паула, целовали его.

What grieved them most was his statement that they would never see his face again. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

Их особенно опечалили его слова о том, что они никогда больше его не увидят. Потом они проводили Паула до корабля.
