2 Samuel 15

In the course of time, Absalom provided himself with a chariot and horses and with fifty men to run ahead of him.

После этого Авессалом завёл себе колесницу, лошадей и свиту из пятидесяти человек, чтобы бежали перед ним.

He would get up early and stand by the side of the road leading to the city gate. Whenever anyone came with a complaint to be placed before the king for a decision, Absalom would call out to him, “What town are you from?” He would answer, “Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel.”

Он вставал рано утром и становился у обочины дороги, которая вела к городским воротам^[a]. Всякий раз, когда кто-нибудь шёл с жалобой на суд к царю, Авессалом подзывал его и спрашивал:

– Из какого ты рода?

Тот отвечал:

– Твой раб из такого-то исраильского рода.

Then Absalom would say to him, “Look, your claims are valid and proper, but there is no representative of the king to hear you.”

И Авессалом говорил ему:

– Да, закон на твоей стороне, но у царя тебя выслушать некому.

And Absalom would add, “If only I were appointed judge in the land! Then everyone who has a complaint or case could come to me and I would see that they receive justice.”

Затем Авессалом добавлял:

– Если бы только меня назначили судьёй страны! Тогда всякий, у кого есть жалоба или тяжба, мог бы приходить ко мне, и я бы разбирал его дело по справедливости.

Also, whenever anyone approached him to bow down before him, Absalom would reach out his hand, take hold of him and kiss him.

И всякий раз, когда кто-нибудь подходил, чтобы поклониться ему, Авессалом протягивал руку, обнимал его и целовал.

Absalom behaved in this way toward all the Israelites who came to the king asking for justice, and so he stole the hearts of the people of Israel.

Так Авессалом вёл себя со всеми исраильтянами, которые приходили к царю в поисках справедливости. Так он вкрадывался в сердца всех исраильтян.

At the end of four^[a] years, Absalom said to the king, “Let me go to Hebron and fulfill a vow I made to the Lord.

В конце четвёртого^[b] года, Авессалом сказал царю:

– Позволь мне отправиться в Хеврон и исполнить клятву, которую я дал Вечному.

While your servant was living at Geshur in Aram, I made this vow: ‘If the Lord takes me back to Jerusalem, I will worship the Lord in Hebron.^[b]’”

Ещё живя в Гешуре в Сирии, я, раб твой, дал такую клятву: «Если Вечный возвратит меня в Иерусалим, я поклонюсь Вечному в Хевроне».

The king said to him, “Go in peace.” So he went to Hebron.

Царь сказал ему:

– Иди с миром.

И Авессалом отправился в Хеврон.

Then Absalom sent secret messengers throughout the tribes of Israel to say, “As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpets, then say, ‘Absalom is king in Hebron.’”

Он разослал тайных вестников по всем родам Исраила, чтобы сказать:

– Как только вы услышите звук рогов, говорите: «Авессалом воцарился в Хевроне».

Two hundred men from Jerusalem had accompanied Absalom. They had been invited as guests and went quite innocently, knowing nothing about the matter.

Вместе с Авессаломом из Иерусалима пошли двести человек. Они шли, искренне приняв приглашение, и ничего не знали об этом заговоре.

While Absalom was offering sacrifices, he also sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, to come from Giloh, his hometown. And so the conspiracy gained strength, and Absalom’s following kept on increasing.

David Flees

Принося жертвы, Авессалом послал за гилонитянином Ахитофелом, советником Давуда, в его город Гило. Так заговор набирал силу, а сторонников Авессалома становилось всё больше и больше.

A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”

К Давуду пришёл вестник и сказал ему:

– Сердца исраильтян на стороне Авессалома.

Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.”

И Давуд сказал всем своим приближённым, которые были с ним в Иерусалиме:

– Собирайтесь! Нам нужно бежать, иначе никто из нас не спасётся от Авессалома. Спешите, чтобы мы смогли уйти, иначе он быстро настигнет нас, обрушит на нас беду и предаст город мечу.

The king’s officials answered him, “Your servants are ready to do whatever our lord the king chooses.”

Приближённые царя ответили ему:

– Твои рабы готовы исполнить всё, что ни решит господин наш царь.

The king set out, with his entire household following him; but he left ten concubines to take care of the palace.

И царь тронулся в путь, сопровождаемый всем своим домом, но оставил десять наложниц, чтобы они присматривали за дворцом.

So the king set out, with all the people following him, and they halted at the edge of the city.

Царь тронулся в путь, сопровождаемый всем народом, и, пройдя некоторое расстояние, они остановились.

All his men marched past him, along with all the Kerethites and Pelethites; and all the six hundred Gittites who had accompanied him from Gath marched before the king.

Все его люди шли за ним вместе со всеми керетитами и пелетитами, а все шестьсот гатян, которые сопровождали его от Гата, шли перед царём.

The king said to Ittai the Gittite, “Why should you come along with us? Go back and stay with King Absalom. You are a foreigner, an exile from your homeland.

Царь сказал гатянину Иттаю:

– Зачем тебе идти с нами? Вернись и оставайся с царём Авессаломом. Ты чужеземец, изгнанник из родной земли.

You came only yesterday. And today shall I make you wander about with us, when I do not know where I am going? Go back, and take your people with you. May the Lord show you kindness and faithfulness.”^[c]

Ты пришёл лишь вчера. А сегодня, когда я сам не знаю куда идти, я заставлю тебя скитаться с нами? Ступай обратно и возьми с собой своих земляков. И пусть Вечный явит тебе милость и верность.

But Ittai replied to the king, “As surely as the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king may be, whether it means life or death, there will your servant be.”

Но Иттай ответил царю:

– Верно, как и то, что жив Вечный и жив господин мой царь, – где бы ни был господин мой царь, жизнь ли то будет или смерть, там будет и твой раб.

David said to Ittai, “Go ahead, march on.” So Ittai the Gittite marched on with all his men and the families that were with him.

Давуд сказал Иттаю:

– Тогда ступай, иди вперёд.

И гатянин Иттай пошёл вперёд со всеми своими людьми и всеми детьми, которые были с ним.

The whole countryside wept aloud as all the people passed by. The king also crossed the Kidron Valley, and all the people moved on toward the wilderness.

Когда люди царя шли, вся страна громко плакала. Царь пересёк долину Кедрон, и все его люди двинулись к пустыне.

Zadok was there, too, and all the Levites who were with him were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. They set down the ark of God, and Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had finished leaving the city.

Там же был и Цадок, главный священнослужитель, и все левиты с ним, которые несли сундук соглашения Аллаха. Они поставили сундук Аллаха, а Авиатар приносил жертвы, пока весь народ не вышел из города.

Then the king said to Zadok, “Take the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the Lord’s eyes, he will bring me back and let me see it and his dwelling place again.

Царь сказал Цадоку:

– Верни сундук соглашения Аллаха в город. Если я найду милость в глазах Вечного, Он возвратит меня и вновь даст мне увидеть Его и Его жилище.

But if he says, ‘I am not pleased with you,’ then I am ready; let him do to me whatever seems good to him.”

Но если Он скажет: «Ты Мне неугоден», то я готов, пусть Он поступит со мной как пожелает.

The king also said to Zadok the priest, “Do you understand? Go back to the city with my blessing. Take your son Ahimaaz with you, and also Abiathar’s son Jonathan. You and Abiathar return with your two sons.

Ещё царь сказал священнослужителю Цадоку:

– Разве ты не наблюдательный человек^[c]? Вернись в город с миром, вместе со своим сыном Ахимаацем и сыном Авиатара, Ионафаном. Ты и Авиатар возьмите с собой обоих ваших сыновей.

I will wait at the fords in the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me.”

Я буду ждать у бродов через Иордан в пустыне, пока от вас ко мне не придут вести.

So Zadok and Abiathar took the ark of God back to Jerusalem and stayed there.

Цадок и Авиатар вернули сундук Аллаха в Иерусалим и остались там.

But David continued up the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went; his head was covered and he was barefoot. All the people with him covered their heads too and were weeping as they went up.

А Давуд пошёл вверх по Оливковой горе, плача на ходу. Он шёл босым, и голова его была покрыта. Все люди, которые были с ним, также покрыли свои головы и, поднимаясь на гору, плакали.

Now David had been told, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” So David prayed, “Lord, turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness.”

Когда же Давуду сказали: «Ахитофел среди заговорщиков с Авессаломом», Давуд помолился:

– Вечный, сделай совет Ахитофела неразумным.

When David arrived at the summit, where people used to worship God, Hushai the Arkite was there to meet him, his robe torn and dust on his head.

Когда Давуд добрался до вершины, где поклонялись Аллаху, аркитянин Хушай вышел ему навстречу. Его одежда была разорвана и вся голова в пыли.^[d]

David said to him, “If you go with me, you will be a burden to me.

Давуд сказал ему:

– Если ты пойдёшь со мной, то будешь мне в тягость.

But if you return to the city and say to Absalom, ‘Your Majesty, I will be your servant; I was your father’s servant in the past, but now I will be your servant,’ then you can help me by frustrating Ahithophel’s advice.

Но если ты вернёшься в город и скажешь Авессалому: «Я буду твоим рабом, царь. Прежде я был рабом твоего отца, но теперь я буду твоим рабом», то сможешь помочь мне, расстроив совет Ахитофела.

Won’t the priests Zadok and Abiathar be there with you? Tell them anything you hear in the king’s palace.

С тобою там будут священнослужители Цадок и Авиатар. Передавай им всё, что услышишь в царском дворце.

Their two sons, Ahimaaz son of Zadok and Jonathan son of Abiathar, are there with them. Send them to me with anything you hear.”

Двое их сыновей, сын Цадока Ахимаац, и сын Авиатара Ионафан, находятся при них. Присылайте через них ко мне все новости, которые услышите.

So Hushai, David’s confidant, arrived at Jerusalem as Absalom was entering the city.

И друг Давуда Хушай прибыл в Иерусалим, когда Авессалом входил в город.
