Verse 1

Praise the Lord, my soul.

Lord my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

Славьте Вечного, призывайте Его имя,
возвещайте народам о Его делах.

Verse 2

The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment;
he stretches out the heavens like a tent

Воспойте Ему, пойте Ему хвалу,
рассказывайте о всех Его чудесах.

Verse 3

and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.
He makes the clouds his chariot
and rides on the wings of the wind.

Хвалитесь Его святым именем;
пусть веселятся сердца ищущих Вечного.

Verse 4

He makes winds his messengers,^[a]
flames of fire his servants.

Ищите Вечного и силу Его,
всегда ищите Его лица.

Verse 5

He set the earth on its foundations;
it can never be moved.

Помните чудеса, которые Он сотворил,
знамения Его и суды, что Он произнёс,

Verse 6

You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.

о потомки Ибрахима, раба Его,
о сыны Якуба, избранные Его!

Verse 7

But at your rebuke the waters fled,
at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;

Он – Вечный, наш Бог,
суды Его по всей земле.

Verse 8

they flowed over the mountains,
they went down into the valleys,
to the place you assigned for them.

Он помнит вечно Своё соглашение –
слово, данное Им для тысяч поколений, –

Verse 9

You set a boundary they cannot cross;
never again will they cover the earth.

соглашение, заключённое с Ибрахимом,
помнит клятву, данную Исхаку.

Verse 10

He makes springs pour water into the ravines;
it flows between the mountains.

Он поставил его Якубу законом,
Исраилу – вечным соглашением,

Verse 11

They give water to all the beasts of the field;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

сказав: «Я отдам тебе ханаанскую землю
в удел твоего наследия».^[a]

Verse 12

The birds of the sky nest by the waters;
they sing among the branches.

Когда они были малочисленны и незначительны,
и были чужеземцами на этой земле,

Verse 13

He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;
the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.

то скитались от народа к народу
и из царства в царство.

Verse 14

He makes grass grow for the cattle,
and plants for people to cultivate—
bringing forth food from the earth:

Он никому не давал их притеснять
и укорял за них даже царей,

Verse 15

wine that gladdens human hearts,
oil to make their faces shine,
and bread that sustains their hearts.

говоря: «Не трогайте помазанников Моих
и пророкам Моим не делайте зла».^[b]

Verse 16

The trees of the Lord are well watered,
the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.

Он послал голод на землю,
уничтожил все запасы пищи.

Verse 17

There the birds make their nests;
the stork has its home in the junipers.

Он послал перед ними человека:
в рабство был продан Юсуф.

Verse 18

The high mountains belong to the wild goats;
the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.

Стеснили оковами его ноги,
надели на шею железное ярмо,

Verse 19

He made the moon to mark the seasons,
and the sun knows when to go down.

пока не исполнилось его предсказание,
пока слово Вечного не доказало его правоту.

Verse 20

You bring darkness, it becomes night,
and all the beasts of the forest prowl.

Царь приказал, и развязали его,
владыка народов освободил его.

Verse 21

The lions roar for their prey
and seek their food from God.

Он сделал его господином над своим домом
и правителем над всем своим владением,

Verse 22

The sun rises, and they steal away;
they return and lie down in their dens.

чтобы он наставлял^[c] его приближённых
и старейшин его учил мудрости.^[d]

Verse 23

Then people go out to their work,
to their labor until evening.

Тогда пришёл Исраил в Египет,
и жил Якуб в земле Хама^[e] как чужеземец.

Verse 24

How many are your works, Lord!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.

И умножил Всевышний Свой народ
и сделал его сильнее его врагов.

Verse 25

There is the sea, vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.

Возбудил в сердцах их ненависть к Его народу
и хитрость против Его рабов.^[f]

Verse 26

There the ships go to and fro,
and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.

Он послал Мусу, Своего раба,
и Харуна, которого избрал.

Verse 27

All creatures look to you
to give them their food at the proper time.

Они показали среди них Его чудеса
и Его знамения – в земле Хама.

Verse 28

When you give it to them,
they gather it up;
when you open your hand,
they are satisfied with good things.

Он послал тьму, и стало темно,
и не воспротивились Его слову.

Verse 29

When you hide your face,
they are terrified;
when you take away their breath,
they die and return to the dust.

Он обратил воды Египта в кровь
и погубил в них рыбу.

Verse 30

When you send your Spirit,
they are created,
and you renew the face of the ground.

Земля их закишела множеством жаб,
которые вошли даже в покои царей.

Verse 31

May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in his works—

Он произнёс слово, и налетели тучи мух,
и комары заполонили все их земли.

Verse 32

he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,
who touches the mountains, and they smoke.

Он послал на них град вместо дождя
и пылающий огонь – на их землю.

Verse 33

I will sing to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

Побил их виноград и инжир,
поломал деревья в их земле.

Verse 34

May my meditation be pleasing to him,
as I rejoice in the Lord.

Сказал, и пришла саранча,
целые тучи без числа,

Verse 35

But may sinners vanish from the earth
and the wicked be no more.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

Praise the Lord.^[b]

и съели всю траву в их земле
и плоды на их полях.

Затем Он поразил всех первенцев в их земле –
первые плоды их мужской силы.^[g]

Он вывел Исраил с серебром и золотом,
и не было ни одного среди родов, кто бы споткнулся.

и они унаследовали то, над чем трудились другие,
