Hosea 10

Israel was a spreading vine;
    he brought forth fruit for himself.
As his fruit increased,
    he built more altars;
as his land prospered,
    he adorned his sacred stones.

Исраил – ветвистый виноград;
    он производил плод для себя.
Чем больше было у него плодов,
    тем больше он возводил жертвенников;
чем плодороднее была его земля,
    тем лучше он украшал свои священные камни.

Their heart is deceitful,
    and now they must bear their guilt.
The Lord will demolish their altars
    and destroy their sacred stones.

Их сердце обманчиво,
    и теперь они должны понести наказание.
Вечный разрушит их жертвенники
    и уничтожит их священные камни.

Then they will say, “We have no king
    because we did not revere the Lord.
But even if we had a king,
    what could he do for us?”

Тогда они скажут: «У нас нет царя,
    потому что мы не почитали Вечного.
Но даже если бы и был у нас царь,
    то что бы он мог сделать для нас?»

They make many promises,
    take false oaths
    and make agreements;
therefore lawsuits spring up
    like poisonous weeds in a plowed field.

Они говорят пустые слова,
    дают ложные клятвы
    и заключают бесполезные соглашения,
поэтому несправедливый суд процветает у них,
    как ядовитые сорняки на вспаханном поле.

The people who live in Samaria fear
    for the calf-idol of Beth Aven.^[a]
Its people will mourn over it,
    and so will its idolatrous priests,
those who had rejoiced over its splendor,
    because it is taken from them into exile.

Жители Самарии будут бояться
    за идола-тельца Бет-Авена («дома зла»)^[a].
Его народ и его жрецы,
    что радовались славе идола,
будут скорбеть по нему,
    потому что слава отойдёт от него.

It will be carried to Assyria
    as tribute for the great king.
Ephraim will be disgraced;
    Israel will be ashamed of its foreign alliances.

Он будет унесён в Ассирию
    в дар великому царю^[b].
Ефраим будет опозорен,
    Исраил будет постыжен за свой совет^[c].

Samaria’s king will be destroyed,
    swept away like a twig on the surface of the waters.

Самария и её царь уплывут,
    как ветка по течению.

The high places of wickedness^[b] will be destroyed—
    it is the sin of Israel.
Thorns and thistles will grow up
    and cover their altars.
Then they will say to the mountains, “Cover us!”
    and to the hills, “Fall on us!”

Капища зла^[d], грех Исраила, будут уничтожены,
    колючки и сорняки вырастут на их жертвенниках.
Тогда люди скажут горам: «Покройте нас!» –
    и холмам: «Падите на нас!»

“Since the days of Gibeah, you have sinned, Israel,
    and there you have remained.^[c]
Will not war again overtake
    the evildoers in Gibeah?

– Ты грешил со времён Гивы^[e], Исраил,
    и таким ты и остался.
Разве война не настигла
    беззаконников в Гиве?

When I please, I will punish them;
    nations will be gathered against them
    to put them in bonds for their double sin.

По Моему желанию Я накажу их:
    народы соберутся против них,
    чтобы надеть на них оковы за их двойной грех.

Ephraim is a trained heifer
    that loves to thresh;
so I will put a yoke
    on her fair neck.
I will drive Ephraim,
    Judah must plow,
    and Jacob must break up the ground.

Ефраим – приученная телица,
    привыкшая молотить зерно.
Итак, Я Сам надену ярмо
    на её тучную шею.
Я запрягу Ефраима;
    на Иудее буду пахать,
    а на Якубе боронить.

Sow righteousness for yourselves,
    reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground;
    for it is time to seek the Lord,
until he comes
    and showers his righteousness on you.

Сейте для себя праведность,
    и пожнёте плоды верной любви;
распашите свою целину,
    потому что настало время искать Вечного,
пока Он не придёт
    и не изольёт на вас праведность, как дождь.

But you have planted wickedness,
    you have reaped evil,
    you have eaten the fruit of deception.
Because you have depended on your own strength
    and on your many warriors,

Но вы сеяли беззаконие,
    пожинали зло
    и съели плод лжи.
Так как вы полагались на свою силу
    и на множество своих воинов,

the roar of battle will rise against your people,
    so that all your fortresses will be devastated—
as Shalman devastated Beth Arbel on the day of battle,
    when mothers were dashed to the ground with their children.

рёв войны поднимется против вашего народа,
    и все ваши крепости будут разрушены.
Как Салман разрушил Бет-Арбел в день битвы,
    когда матери вместе со своими детьми были забиты до смерти,

So will it happen to you, Bethel,
    because your wickedness is great.
When that day dawns,
    the king of Israel will be completely destroyed.
