Verse 1

When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

Когда Сулейман закончил молиться, с небес сошёл огонь, который пожрал всесожжения и жертвы, и слава Вечного наполнила храм.

Verse 2

The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it.

Священнослужители не могли войти в храм Вечного, потому что слава Вечного наполняла его.

Verse 3

When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying,

“He is good;
his love endures forever.”

Когда все исраильтяне увидели, как сошёл огонь, и увидели славу Вечного над храмом, они пали лицом на землю, поклонились и возблагодарили Вечного, говоря:

– Он благ;
милость Его – навеки!

Verse 4

Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord.

Затем царь и весь народ стали приносить жертвы Вечному.

Verse 5

And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God.

Царь Сулейман принёс в жертву двадцать две тысячи голов крупного скота и сто двадцать тысяч мелкого. Так царь и весь народ освятили храм Всевышнему.

Verse 6

The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the Lord’s musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, “His love endures forever.” Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.

Священнослужители заняли свои места, а с ними и левиты с музыкальными инструментами Вечного, которые царь Давуд сделал, чтобы славить Вечного, и на которых играли, когда он возносил благодарение, говоря: «Милость Его – навеки». Напротив левитов священнослужители трубили в свои трубы. И все исраильтяне стояли.

Verse 7

Solomon consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar he had made could not hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat portions.

Сулейман освятил среднюю часть двора перед храмом Вечного и вознёс там всесожжения и жир жертв примирения, потому что бронзовый жертвенник, который он сделал, не вмещал всесожжений, хлебных приношений и жир жертв.

Verse 8

So Solomon observed the festival at that time for seven days, and all Israel with him—a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt.

Сулейман, а с ним и весь Исраил – огромное собрание от Лево-Хамата^[a] на севере до речки на границе Египта на юге – отметили тогда семидневный праздник Шалашей.

Verse 9

On the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had celebrated the dedication of the altar for seven days and the festival for seven days more.

На восьмой день они устроили собрание: ведь они семь дней праздновали освящение жертвенника, и ещё семь дней – праздник.

Verse 10

On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people to their homes, joyful and glad in heart for the good things the Lord had done for David and Solomon and for his people Israel.

The Lord Appears to Solomon

На двадцать третий день седьмого месяца (в начале осени) Сулейман отпустил по домам народ, который радовался и веселился сердцем о благе, что Вечный сделал Давуду, Сулейману и Своему народу Исраилу.

Вечный является Сулейману

Verse 11

When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace,

Когда Сулейман закончил строительство храма Вечного и царского дворца и успешно завершил всё, что думал сделать в храме Вечного и в своём дворце,

Verse 12

the Lord appeared to him at night and said:

“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.

Вечный явился ему ночью и сказал:

– Я услышал твою молитву и избрал это место Себе как храм для жертвоприношений.

Verse 13

“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,

Когда Я затворю небеса и не будет дождя, или повелю саранче объесть землю, или нашлю мор на Мой народ,

Verse 14

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

тогда, если Мой народ, над которым провозглашено Моё имя, смирит себя, станет молиться и искать Меня и оставит свои злые пути, то Я услышу с небес, прощу их грех и исцелю их землю.

Verse 15

Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

Теперь Мои глаза будут открыты и Мой слух будет чуток к молитвам, которые станут возносить на этом месте.

Verse 16

I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

Я избрал и освятил этот храм, чтобы Мне поклонялись здесь вовеки. Мои глаза и сердце будут здесь всегда.

Verse 17

“As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws,

А ты, если будешь ходить предо Мной, как ходил твой отец Давуд, исполнять всё, что Я повелю, и соблюдать Мои установления и законы,

Verse 18

I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to rule over Israel.’

то Я упрочу твой царский престол по соглашению, которое Я заключил с Давудом, твоим отцом, когда сказал: «Ты не лишишься преемника, который бы правил Исраилом».

Verse 19

“But if you^[a] turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you^[b] and go off to serve other gods and worship them,

Но если вы отвернётесь и оставите Мои установления и повеления, которые Я дал вам, и пойдёте служить другим богам и поклоняться им,

Verse 20

then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples.

то Я искореню вас из земли, которую Я дал вам, и отвергну этот храм, который Я освятил для поклонения Мне. Я сделаю его^[b] притчей и посмешищем у всех народов.

Verse 21

This temple will become a heap of rubble. All^[c] who pass by will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’

И хотя этот храм сейчас превознесён, всякий, кто пройдёт мимо, поразится и спросит: «Почему Вечный сделал такое с этой страной и с этим храмом?»

Verse 22

People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.’”

А ему ответят: «Потому что они оставили Вечного, Бога их предков, Который вывел их из Египта, приняли других богов, поклонялись и служили им – вот за что Он навёл на них все эти беды».
