1 Kings 16

Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu son of Hanani concerning Baasha:

К Иеву, сыну Ханани, было слово Вечного о Бааше:

“I lifted you up from the dust and appointed you ruler over my people Israel, but you followed the ways of Jeroboam and caused my people Israel to sin and to arouse my anger by their sins.

– Я поднял тебя, Бааша, из праха и сделал вождём Моего народа Исраила, но ты ходил путями Иеровоама и склонял Мой народ Исраил к греху, вызывая Мой гнев.

So I am about to wipe out Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat.

И вот, Я истреблю тебя и твой дом и сделаю с твоим домом то же, что с домом Иеровоама, сына Невата.

Dogs will eat those belonging to Baasha who die in the city, and birds will feed on those who die in the country.”

Тех из твоей семьи, кто умрёт в городе, пожрут псы, а тех, кто умрёт в поле, склюют птицы.

As for the other events of Baasha’s reign, what he did and his achievements, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?

Прочие события царствования Бааши, то, что он сделал, и его свершения записаны в «Книге летописей царей Исраила».

Baasha rested with his ancestors and was buried in Tirzah. And Elah his son succeeded him as king.

Бааша упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в Тирце. И царём вместо него стал его сын Ела.

Moreover, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Jehu son of Hanani to Baasha and his house, because of all the evil he had done in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger by the things he did, becoming like the house of Jeroboam—and also because he destroyed it.

Elah King of Israel

Но через пророка Иеву, сына Ханани, уже было слово Вечного о Бааше и о его доме – за всё то зло, что он совершил в глазах Вечного, вызывая Его гнев делами, которые творил, подражая дому Иеровоама, а также за то, что он его уничтожил.

Ела – царь Исраила

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah son of Baasha became king of Israel, and he reigned in Tirzah two years.

На двадцать шестом году правления Асы, царя Иудеи, царём Исраила стал Ела, сын Бааши, и правил в Тирце два года.

Zimri, one of his officials, who had command of half his chariots, plotted against him. Elah was in Tirzah at the time, getting drunk in the home of Arza, the palace administrator at Tirzah.

Зимри, один из его приближённых, под началом у которого была половина царских колесниц, составил против него заговор. Когда Ела был в Тирце и напился до бесчувствия в доме Арцы, распорядителя его дворца,

Zimri came in, struck him down and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah. Then he succeeded him as king.

Зимри вошёл и убил его. Это было на двадцать седьмом году правления Асы, царя Иудеи. Зимри стал царём вместо Елы.

As soon as he began to reign and was seated on the throne, he killed off Baasha’s whole family. He did not spare a single male, whether relative or friend.

Как только он воцарился и воссел на престол, он тут же перебил всю семью Бааши. Он не оставил в живых ни одного мужчину – ни родственника, ни друга.

So Zimri destroyed the whole family of Baasha, in accordance with the word of the Lord spoken against Baasha through the prophet Jehu—

Зимри истребил всю семью Бааши по слову, которое Вечный сказал о Бааше через пророка Иеву:

because of all the sins Baasha and his son Elah had committed and had caused Israel to commit, so that they aroused the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, by their worthless idols.

за все грехи, которые Бааша и его сын Ела совершили сами и заставили совершить Исраил, вызывая гнев Вечного, Бога Исраила, ничтожными идолами.

Zimri King of Israel

Прочие события царствования Елы и всё, что он сделал, записано в «Книге летописей царей Исраила».

Борьба за власть в Исраиле

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned in Tirzah seven days. The army was encamped near Gibbethon, a Philistine town.

На двадцать седьмом году правления Асы, царя Иудеи, Зимри стал править в Тирце, но правил всего семь дней. Войско тогда стояло станом у филистимского города Гиббетона.

When the Israelites in the camp heard that Zimri had plotted against the king and murdered him, they proclaimed Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that very day there in the camp.

Когда исраильтяне в стане услышали о том, что Зимри составил заговор против царя и убил его, они в тот же день провозгласили царём Исраила военачальника Омри.

Then Omri and all the Israelites with him withdrew from Gibbethon and laid siege to Tirzah.

После этого Омри и все исраильтяне ушли из-под Гиббетона и осадили Тирцу.

When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the royal palace and set the palace on fire around him. So he died,

Когда Зимри увидел, что город взят, он ушёл во внутренние укрепления царского дворца и поджёг его. Так он погиб

because of the sins he had committed, doing evil in the eyes of the Lord and following the ways of Jeroboam and committing the same sin Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit.

из-за грехов, которые он совершил, творя зло в глазах Вечного и ходя путями Иеровоама, и в грехе, который он совершил сам и к которому склонил Исраил.

As for the other events of Zimri’s reign, and the rebellion he carried out, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?

Omri King of Israel

Прочие события царствования Зимри и заговор, который он составил, записаны в «Книге летописей царей Исраила».

Then the people of Israel were split into two factions; half supported Tibni son of Ginath for king, and the other half supported Omri.

Тогда народ Исраила разделился: половина народа хотела сделать царём Тивни, сына Гината, а другая половина стояла за Омри.

But Omri’s followers proved stronger than those of Tibni son of Ginath. So Tibni died and Omri became king.

Но сторонники Омри оказались сильнее сторонников Тивни, сына Гината. И Тивни погиб, а Омри стал царём.

Омри – царь Исраила

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned twelve years, six of them in Tirzah.

На тридцать первом году правления Асы, царя Иудеи, Омри стал царём Исраила и правил двенадцать лет, из них шесть – в Тирце.

He bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents^[a] of silver and built a city on the hill, calling it Samaria, after Shemer, the name of the former owner of the hill.

Он купил самарийский холм у Шемера за семьдесят два килограмма^[a] серебра и построил на холме город, назвав его Самарией – по имени Шемера, бывшего владельца холма.

But Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord and sinned more than all those before him.

Омри делал зло в глазах Вечного и грешил больше, чем все, кто был до него.

He followed completely the ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat, committing the same sin Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit, so that they aroused the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, by their worthless idols.

Он ходил всеми путями Иеровоама, сына Невата, и в его грехе, к которому он склонил Исраил, гневя Вечного, Бога Исраила, ничтожными идолами.

As for the other events of Omri’s reign, what he did and the things he achieved, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?

Прочие события царствования Омри, то, что он сделал, и его свершения записаны в «Книге летописей царей Исраила».

Omri rested with his ancestors and was buried in Samaria. And Ahab his son succeeded him as king.

Ahab Becomes King of Israel

Омри упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в Самарии. И царём вместо него стал его сын Ахав.

Ахав – царь Исраила

In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria over Israel twenty-two years.

На тридцать восьмом году правления Асы, царя Иудеи, царём Исраила стал Ахав, сын Омри, и правил в Самарии Исраилом двадцать два года.

Ahab son of Omri did more evil in the eyes of the Lord than any of those before him.

Ахав, сын Омри, делал больше зла в глазах Вечного, чем все, кто был до него.

He not only considered it trivial to commit the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, but he also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and began to serve Baal and worship him.

Мало того, что он оставался в грехах Иеровоама, сына Невата, он ещё и женился на Иезевели, дочери Этбаала, царя сидонян, и начал служить Баалу^[b] и поклоняться ему.

He set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he built in Samaria.

Он установил жертвенник в храме Баала, который построил в Самарии.

Ahab also made an Asherah pole and did more to arouse the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, than did all the kings of Israel before him.

Ещё Ахав делал столбы Ашеры и то, что вызывало гнев Вечного, Бога Исраила, больше, чем все цари Исраила до него.

In Ahab’s time, Hiel of Bethel rebuilt Jericho. He laid its foundations at the cost of his firstborn son Abiram, and he set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son Segub, in accordance with the word of the Lord spoken by Joshua son of Nun.

Во времена Ахава Хиил из Вефиля восстановил Иерихон. Он заложил его основания ценой своего первенца Авирама и поставил его ворота ценой своего младшего сына Сегува, по слову Вечного, сказанному через Иешуа, сына Нуна.^[c]
