Numbers 29:1

‘On the [a]first day of the seventh month, you shall have a holy [summoned] assembly; you shall do no laborious work. It will be for you a day of blowing the trumpets (the shophar, ram’s horn).

And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

1-5 “On the first day of the seventh month, gather in holy worship and do no regular work. This is your Day-of-Trumpet-Blasts. Sacrifice a Whole-Burnt-Offering: one young bull, one ram, and seven male yearling lambs—all healthy—as a pleasing fragrance to God. Prepare a Grain-Offering of six quarts of fine flour mixed with oil for the bull, four quarts for the ram, and two quarts for each lamb, plus a he-goat as an Absolution-Offering to atone for you.

وَفِي الْيَوْمِ الأَوَّلِ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ السَّابِعِ الْعِبْرِيِّ تُقِيمُونَ لَكُمْ مَحْفَلاً مُقَدَّساً لِلرَّبِّ، تَمْتَنِعُونَ فِيهِ عَنْ أَيِّ عَمَلٍ، إذْ يَكُونُ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ نَفْخٍ بِالأَبْوَاقِ.

Den første dag i den syvende[a] måned skal I indvarsle det nye år ved hornblæsning og fest.[b] På den dag skal I hvile fra det daglige arbejde og samles for Herrens ansigt.
