Judges 11:18

Then they went through the wilderness and went around the land of Edom and the land of Moab, and came to the east side of the land of Moab, and they camped on the other side of the [river] Arnon; but they did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was the [northern] boundary of Moab.

Then they went along through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, but came not within the border of Moab: for Arnon was the border of Moab.

Da israelitterne senere brød op, gik de gennem ørkenen i en bue uden om Edom og Moab langs den østlige grænse, indtil de havde passeret Moab, og nåede til Arnonfloden. Men de overskred aldrig grænsen til Moab.

Par la suite, ils ont repris leur marche à travers le désert en contournant le pays d’Edom et celui de Moab. Ils sont arrivés à l’est du pays de Moab et ils ont établi leur camp de l’autre côté de l’Arnon, sans pénétrer dans le territoire de Moab dont l’Arnon constitue la frontière.

Slutligen gick de runt Edom och Moab genom öknen och vandrade utmed den östra gränsen tills de kom bortom Moabs land och slog läger vid floden Arnon, men de gick aldrig genom Moabs land. Arnon utgör nämligen gränsen till Moab.
