Joshua 5:6

For the Israelites walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, that is, the men of war who came out of Egypt, died because they did not listen to the voice of the Lord; to them the Lord had sworn [an oath] that He would not let them see the land which He had promised to their fathers to give us, a land [of abundance] [b]flowing with milk and honey.

The Israelites had moved around in the desert for 40 years. By the end of that time all the men old enough to serve in the army when they left Egypt had died. That’s because they hadn’t obeyed the Lord. He had made a promise to them. He had told them they wouldn’t see the land. It’s the land he had promised to their people to give us. It’s a land that has plenty of milk and honey.

The Israelites had moved about in the wilderness forty years until all the men who were of military age when they left Egypt had died, since they had not obeyed the Lord. For the Lord had sworn to them that they would not see the land he had solemnly promised their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.

إِذْ ظَلَّ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ تَائِهِينَ فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، حَتَّى هَلَكَ جَمِيعُ مَنْ كَانَ فِي سِنِّ الْجُنْدِيَّةِ مِنَ الْخَارِجِينَ مِنْ مِصْرَ، الَّذِينَ عَصَوْا أَمْرَ الرَّبِّ الَّذِي أَقْسَمَ أَنْ يَحْرِمَهُمْ مِنْ رُؤْيَةِ الأَرْضِ الَّتِي تَفِيضُ لَبَناً وَعَسَلاً الَّتِي حَلَفَ لِآبَائِهِمْ أَنْ يَهَبَهَا لَهُمْ.

Israelitterne havde jo opholdt sig i ørkenen i 40 år, indtil alle de våbenføre mænd var døde. Herren havde nemlig sagt, at på grund af deres ulydighed måtte de ikke få lov at se det land, han havde lovet deres forfædre—et land, som flyder med mælk og honning.

Pendant quarante ans, les Israélites avaient marché dans le désert jusqu’à l’extinction de toute la génération des hommes en âge de porter les armes au moment de la sortie d’Egypte. En effet, parce qu’ils n’avaient pas obéi à l’Eternel, l’Eternel avait juré de ne pas leur laisser voir le pays qu’il avait promis par serment à leurs ancêtres de nous donner, ce pays ruisselant de lait et de miel.

イスラエルの民は四十年荒野をさまよい歩き、エジプトを出た時に兵役に就く年齢にあった男子は、ついに死に絶えました。彼らが主に従わなかったので、約束されていた乳とみつの流れる地に入らせないと主は誓ったのです。

이스라엘 백성은 이집트에서 나온 모든 군인들이 다 죽을 때까지 광야에서 40년 동안 방황하였다. 그들이 여호와께 순종하지 않았기 때문에 여호와께서는 그들의 조상들에게 주겠다고 약속하신 기름지고 비옥한 땅에 그들이 들어가지 못할 것이라고 말씀하셨다.

Want veertig jaar lang had het volk van Israël rondgetrokken in de woestijn. Net zolang tot alle mannen die bij het vertrek uit Egypte oud genoeg waren om een wapen te dragen, waren gestorven. Zij waren immers ongehoorzaam geweest aan de Here en Hij had gezworen dat zij geen voet zouden zetten in het land dat Hij Israël had beloofd, een land dat overvloeide van melk en honing.

Os israelitas andaram quarenta anos pelo deserto, até que todos os guerreiros que tinham saído do Egito morressem, visto que não tinham obedecido ao Senhor. Pois o Senhor lhes havia jurado que não veriam a terra que prometera aos seus antepassados que nos daria, terra onde manam leite e mel.

Porque a nação de Israel percorrera o deserto, andando em várias direções, durante 40 anos, até que todos os homens com idade para o combate, na altura em que deixaram o Egito, morreram, visto não terem obedecido ao Senhor que lhes dissera que não haveriam de entrar na terra que prometera a Israel, uma terra onde jorra leite e mel.

Israeliţii au călătorit patruzeci de ani prin pustie până când a pierit întreaga generaţie de luptători care ieşiseră din Egipt şi care nu ascultaseră de glasul Domnului. Domnul le-a jurat că nu îi va lăsa să vadă ţara despre care Domnul jurase strămoşilor lor că ne-o va da, ţară în care curge lapte şi miere.

Israel hade nämligen vandrat fram och tillbaka i öknen under fyrtio år, tills alla de män hade dött som varit gamla nog att bära vapen när de drog ut ur Egypten. De hade inte varit lydiga mot Herren och därför hade han svurit att han inte skulle låta dem komma in i det land han med ed lovat deras förfäder att ge oss, ett land som flyter av mjölk och honung.

ชนอิสราเอลร่อนเร่อยู่ในถิ่นกันดารตลอดสี่สิบปี จนชายทุกคนที่อยู่ในวัยที่ออกรบได้เมื่อออกมาจากอียิปต์ได้สิ้นชีวิตหมดแล้ว เพราะพวกเขาไม่ได้เชื่อฟังองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าด้วยว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงปฏิญาณกับพวกเขาไว้ว่า พวกเขาจะไม่ได้เห็นดินแดนอันอุดมด้วยน้ำนมและน้ำผึ้งที่พระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้อย่างหนักแน่นกับบรรพบุรุษของพวกเขาว่าจะยกให้พวกเรา
