Jonah 4:11

Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 [innocent] persons, who do not know the difference between their right and left hand [and are not yet accountable for sin], as well as many [blameless] animals?”

And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?”

And shouldn’t I show concern for the great city of Nineveh? It has more than 120,000 people. They can’t tell right from wrong. Nineveh also has a lot of animals.”

And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?”

But Nineveh has more than 120,000 people living in spiritual darkness,[a] not to mention all the animals. Shouldn’t I feel sorry for such a great city?”

أَفَلا أُشْفِقُ أَنَا عَلَى نِينَوَى الْمَدِينَةِ الْعَظِيمَةِ الَّتِي يُقِيمُ فِيهَا أَكْثَرُ مِنْ مِئَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَلْفَ شَخْصٍ مِمَّنْ لَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بَيْنَ يَمِينِهِمْ وَشِمَالِهِمْ، فَضْلاً عَمَّا فِيهَا مِنْ بَهَائِمَ كَثِيرَةٍ؟».

Hvor meget mere skulle jeg da ikke have medlidenhed med Nineve, hvor der bor mere end 120.000 uskyldige børn, som endnu ikke kender forskel på højre og venstre.[a] Og hvad med alle de uskyldige husdyr?”

Ich aber sollte Ninive nicht verschonen, diese große Stadt, in der mehr als 120.000 Menschen leben, die Gut und Böse[a] nicht unterscheiden können, und dazu noch so viele Tiere?«

Y de Nínive, una gran ciudad donde hay más de ciento veinte mil personas que no distinguen su derecha de su izquierda, y tanto ganado, ¿no habría yo de compadecerme?

Et tu voudrais que moi, je n’aie pas pitié de Ninive, de cette grande ville où vivent plus de cent vingt mille personnes qui ne savent pas distinguer le bien du mal, sans compter des animaux en grand nombre !

Ako pa ayhan ang indi maluoy sa Nineve, sa sinang dako nga siyudad nga may sobra 120,000 ka tawo nga wala makahibalo parte sa akon mga kasuguan,[b] kag may madamo pa nga mga kasapatan?”

だとしたなら、このニネベのように大きな町をわたしが惜しまないはずがあるだろうか。そこには、霊的な闇の中にいる十二万の人々と、たくさんの家畜がいるのだ。」

하물며 선악을 분별하지 못하는 사람이 12만 명이 넘고 수많은 가축도 있는 이 큰 니느웨성을 내가 불쌍히 여기는 것이 옳지 않으냐?”

Waarom zou Ik dan geen medelijden voelen met die grote stad met meer dan honderdtwintigduizend mensen, die zich nergens van bewust zijn, nog afgezien van al die onschuldige dieren?’

Contudo, Nínive tem mais de cento e vinte mil pessoas que não sabem nem distinguir a mão direita da esquerda[a], além de muitos rebanhos. Não deveria eu ter pena dessa grande cidade?”

Não devia eu então ter compaixão desta grande cidade de Nínive, com os seus 120 000 habitantes, sem nenhuma compreensão espiritual, e onde vivem também muitos animais?”

Şi Mie să nu-Mi fie milă de Ninive, cetatea cea mare, în care sunt mai mult de o sută douăzeci de mii de oameni care nu ştiu să deosebească dreapta de stânga lor şi în care se află şi o mulţime de animale?!

Skulle jag då inte bekymra mig för Nineve, den stora staden, där det finns över 120 000 invånare, som inte kan skilja mellan höger och vänster, och dessutom så många djur?”

ก็แล้วนีนะเวห์ซึ่งมีคนกว่า 120,000 คน ซึ่งไม่รู้ประสาว่าไหนมือซ้ายไหนมือขวา ทั้งยังมีสัตว์เลี้ยงอีกมากมาย ไม่ควรหรือที่เราจะห่วงใยนครใหญ่นั้น?”

我怎能不爱惜这尼尼微大城呢？城中单是连左右手都分不清的人就有十二万多，还有许多的牲畜。”

何 况 这 尼 尼 微 大 城 ， 其 中 不 能 分 辨 左 手 右 手 的 有 十 二 万 多 人 ， 并 有 许 多 牲 畜 ， 我 岂 能 不 爱 惜 呢 ？

我怎能不愛惜這尼尼微大城呢？城中單是連左右手都分不清的人就有十二萬多，還有許多的牲畜。」
