Jonah 1:5

Then the sailors were afraid, and each man cried out to his god; and to lighten the ship [and diminish the danger] they threw the ship’s cargo into the sea. But Jonah had gone below into the hold of the ship and had lain down and was sound asleep.

Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.

Fearing for their lives, the desperate sailors shouted to their gods for help and threw the cargo overboard to lighten the ship.But all this time Jonah was sound asleep down in the hold.

فَفَزِعَ الْمَلّاحُونَ وَاسْتَغَاثَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ بِإِلَهِهِ، وَطَرَحُوا مَا فِي السَّفِينَةِ مِنْ أَمْتِعَةٍ لِيُخَفِّفُوا مِنْ حُمُولَتِهَا. أَمَّا يُونَانُ فَلَجَأَ إِلَى جَوْفِ السَّفِينَةِ وَرَقَدَ مُسْتَغْرِقاً فِي نَوْمٍ عَمِيقٍ.

Sømændene blev dødsens angst og råbte til hver deres gud om hjælp. De kastede også hele lasten over bord for at lette skibet.Imens lå Jonas nede i lastrummet og sov.

Sjömännen blev rädda och ropade var och en till sin gud. För att lätta skeppet kastade de lasten överbord. Men Jona hade gått ner under däck och sov djupt.
