Jeremiah 42:1

Then all the commanders of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah and Jezaniah (Azariah) the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest approached

Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,

1-3 All the army officers, led by Johanan son of Kareah and Jezaniah son of Hoshaiah, accompanied by all the people, small and great, came to Jeremiah the prophet and said, “We have a request. Please listen. Pray to your God for us, what’s left of us. You can see for yourself how few we are! Pray that your God will tell us the way we should go and what we should do.”

Then all the [a]commanders of the forces, Johanan the son of Kareah, Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people both small and great approached

Then all the army officers approached Jeremiah. They included Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah, the son of Hoshaiah. All the people from the least important of them to the most important also came.

ثُمَّ اجْتَمَعَ كُلُّ قُوَّادِ الْقُوَّاتِ وَيُوحَانَانُ بْنُ قَارِيحَ وَيَزَنْيا بْنُ هُوشَعْيَا وَجَمِيعُ الشَّعْبِ صَغِيرُهُمْ وَكَبِيرُهُمْ،

Toen gingen alle legerofficieren, onder wie Johanan en Azarja, samen met de rest van het volk naar Jeremia en zeiden:
