Jeremiah 38:19

Then King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “I am afraid of the Jews [my former subjects] who have deserted to join the Chaldeans, for the enemy may put me into their hand and they will mock me and abuse me.”

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “But I’m afraid of the Judeans who have already deserted to the Chaldeans. If they get hold of me, they’ll rough me up good.” 20-22 Jeremiah assured him, “They won’t get hold of you. Listen, please. Listen to God’s voice. I’m telling you this for your own good so that you’ll live. But if you refuse to turn yourself over, this is what God has shown me will happen: Picture this in your mind—all the women still left in the palace of the king of Judah, led out to the officers of the king of Babylon, and as they’re led out they are saying:“‘They lied to you and did you in, those so-called friends of yours;And now you’re stuck, about knee-deep in mud, and your “friends,” where are they now?’

Then King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “I dread the Jews who have [m]gone over to the Chaldeans, for they may give me over into their hand and they will abuse me.”

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “I’m afraid of some of the Jews. They are the ones who have gone over to the side of the Babylonians. The Babylonians might hand me over to them. And those Jews will treat me badly.”

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “I am afraid of the Jews who have gone over to the Babylonians, for the Babylonians may hand me over to them and they will mistreat me.”

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, ‘I am afraid of the Jews who have gone over to the Babylonians, for the Babylonians may hand me over to them and they will ill-treat me.’

“But I am afraid to surrender,” the king said, “for the Babylonians may hand me over to the Judeans who have defected to them. And who knows what they will do to me!”

فَأَجَابَ الْمَلِكُ: «أَخْشَى أَنْ أَقَعَ فِي يَدِ الْيَهُودِ الَّذِينَ لَجَأُوا إِلَى الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ فَيَسْخَرُوا مِنِّي».

„Men jeg er bange for at overgive mig,” svarede kongen, „for babylonierne vil sikkert udlevere mig til de judæiske overløbere, og hvem ved, hvad de vil gøre ved mig?”

»Aber ich habe Angst vor den Judäern, die schon zu den Babyloniern übergelaufen sind«, entgegnete Zedekia, »man könnte mich ihnen ausliefern, und sie würden mich vielleicht misshandeln.«

王は言いました。「だが、私は降伏するのが怖い。バビロニヤ人は、先に投降したユダヤ人に私を引き渡すだろう。そうなったら、どうなることかわかったものではない。」

‘Maar ik ben bang om mij over te geven,’ zei de koning, ‘want de Babyloniërs zullen mij overdragen aan de Joden die zijn overgelopen en wie weet wat die met mij zullen doen?’

O rei Zedequias disse a Jeremias: “Tenho medo dos judeus que estão apoiando os babilônios, pois os babilônios poderão entregar-me nas mãos deles, e eles me maltratarão”.

西底迦王说：“我害怕那些已经向迦勒底人投降的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人会把我交给他们，任由他们羞辱。”
