to take spoil and seize plunder, to turn your hand against the ruins which are now inhabited, and against the people who are gathered from the nations, who have acquired cattle and goods, who live at the [b]center of the world [Israel].’

لِلاسْتِيلاءِ عَلَى الأَسْلابِ وَنَهْبِ الْغَنَائِمِ وَمُهَاجَمَةِ الْخَرَائِبِ الَّتِي أَصْبَحَتْ آهِلَةً، وَلِمُحَارَبَةِ الشَّعْبِ الْمُجْتَمِعِ مِنْ بَيْنِ الأُمَمِ، الْمُقْتَنِي مَاشِيَةً وَأَمْلاكاً، السَّاكِنِ فِي مَرْكَزِ الأَرْضِ.

og du vil angribe de byer, som engang var forladte, men som nu er befolket med alle de mennesker, der er vendt hjem fra deres eksil. Du vil tage krigsbytte og mange slaver, for folket er i mellemtiden blevet rigt og velstående og bor i verdens navle.

Levantar-me-ei contra todas essas cidades, antigamente desoladas e agora tão cheias de gente, gente que regressou das nações do mundo inteiro, e assim recolherei um saque enorme. Esse povo está cheio de gado, neste momento, e toda a terra como que se move em torno dele!’
