Ezekiel 33:13

When I say to the righteous that he will most certainly live, and he trusts in his [previous acts of] righteousness [to save him] and commits injustice, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but he will die for his injustice that he committed.

When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Suppose I tell a godly person that they will live. And they trust in the fact that they used to do what is right. But now they do what is evil. Then I will not remember any of the right things they have done. They will die because they have done so many evil things.

وَإِنْ قُلْتَ لِلْبَارِّ إِنَّكَ لَا مَحَالَةَ تَحْيَا، فَاعْتَمَدَ عَلَى بِرِّهِ وَأَثِمَ، فَإِنَّ بِرَّهُ كُلَّهُ لَا يُذْكَرُ لَهُ، بَلْ يَمُوتُ بِمَا ارْتَكَبَ مِنْ إِثْمٍ.

Godt nok har jeg sagt, at retskafne mennesker får et godt liv. Men hvis de bliver for selvsikre og begynder at synde, kan alle deres tidligere gode gerninger ikke redde dem. De skal dø, fordi de har gjort oprør og syndet imod mig.

Ik heb gezegd dat een rechtvaardig mens zal blijven leven. Maar als hij zondigt en daarbij verwacht dat zijn vroegere goedheid hem zal redden, zal aan geen van zijn goede daden aandacht worden besteed. Ik zal hem juist om zijn zonden laten sterven.

Om jag säger till den rättfärdige att han ska få leva, men han förtröstar på sin egen rättfärdighet och gör det onda, ska inget av hans rättfärdighet bli ihågkommet. Han ska dö för det onda han gjort.

หากเราบอกคนชอบธรรมว่า เขาจะมีชีวิตอยู่แน่นอน แต่แล้วเขาก็วางใจในความชอบธรรมของตนและทำชั่ว การประพฤติชอบธรรมใดๆ ของเขาจะไม่อยู่ในความทรงจำอีก เขาจะตายเพราะความชั่วที่เขาได้ทำ

我虽对义人说他必能存活，但如果他仗着自己的义而犯罪，他的义将不会被记念，他必因犯罪而死亡。
