Exodus 14:25

He made their chariot wheels hard to turn, and the chariots difficult to drive; so the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from Israel, for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.”

And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

He [q]caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians said, “Let [r]us flee from Israel, for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.”

He jammed the wheels of their chariots. That made the chariots hard to drive. The Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for Israel against Egypt.”

فَجَعَلَ عَجَلاتِ مَرْكَبَاتِهِمْ تَتَخَلَّعُ. فَطَفِقُوا يَجُرُّونَهَا بِمَشَقَّةٍ حَتَّى قَالَ الْمِصْرِيُّونَ: «لِنَهْرُبْ مِنَ الإِسْرَائِيلِيِّينَ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ يُحَارِبُ عَنْهُمْ ضِدَّنَا».

De wielen van de strijdwagens gleden weg en de achtervolgers kwamen slechts langzaam vooruit. ‘Laten we maken dat we wegkomen,’ riepen de Egyptenaren, ‘de Here vecht voor hen en tegen ons!’

Han lät hjulen på deras vagnar lossna[b], så att vagnarna inte kunde ta sig fram. ”Låt oss ta oss härifrån!” ropade egypterna. ”Herren strider för israeliterna mot oss egypter.”
