So the king’s scribes were called at that time in the third month (that is, the month of Sivan) on the twenty-third day; and it was written in accordance with everything that Mordecai commanded, to the Jews, to the chief rulers (satraps), and the governors and officials of the provinces which extended from India to Ethiopia (Cush), 127 provinces, to every province in its own script (writing), and to every people in their own language and to the Jews according to their script and their language.

Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.

So the king’s secretaries were brought in on the twenty-third day of the third month, the month of Sivan, and the order regarding the Jews was written word for word as Mordecai dictated and was addressed to the satraps, governors, and officials of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, 127 provinces in all, to each province in its own script and each people in their own language, including the Jews in their script and language.

Right away the king sent for the royal secretaries. It was the 23rd day of the third month. That was the month of Sivan. They wrote down all Mordecai’s orders to the Jews. They also wrote them to the royal officials, the governors and the nobles of the 127 territories in his kingdom. The territories reached from India all the way to Cush. The orders were written down in the writing of each territory. They were written in the language of each nation. They were also written to the Jews in their own writing and language.

At once the royal secretaries were summoned—on the twenty-third day of the third month, the month of Sivan. They wrote out all Mordecai’s orders to the Jews, and to the satraps, governors and nobles of the 127 provinces stretching from India to Cush.[a] These orders were written in the script of each province and the language of each people and also to the Jews in their own script and language.

So on June 25[a] the king’s secretaries were summoned, and a decree was written exactly as Mordecai dictated. It was sent to the Jews and to the highest officers, the governors, and the nobles of all the 127 provinces stretching from India to Ethiopia.[b] The decree was written in the scripts and languages of all the peoples of the empire, including that of the Jews.

فَاسْتُدْعِيَ كُتَّابُ الْمَلِكِ عَلَى التَّوِّ، فِي الْيَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ وَالْعِشْرِينَ مِنَ شَهْرِ سِيوَانَ، (تَمُّوزَ – يُولْيُو) وَكَتَبُوا مَا أَمْلاهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مُرْدَخَايُ إِلَى الْيَهُودِ وَالْحُكَّامِ وَالْوُلاةِ وَرُؤَسَاءِ الأَقَالِيمِ، الَّتِي تَمْتَدُّ مِنَ الْهِنْدِ إِلَى كُوشٍ، وَالْبَالِغُ عَدَدُهَا مِئَةً وَسَبْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ إِقْلِيماً إِلَى كُلِّ إِقْلِيمٍ بِلُغَتِهِ وَلَهْجَةِ شَعْبِهِ، وَإِلَى الْيَهُودِ بِلُغَتِهِمْ وَلَهْجَتِهِمْ.

On convoqua les secrétaires impériaux sur-le-champ, le vingt-troisième jour du troisième mois, c’est-à-dire du mois de Sivân. On écrivit aux Juifs, aux satrapes, aux gouverneurs et aux ministres des cent vingt-sept provinces qui s’étendaient de l’Inde à l’Ethiopie, tout ce qu’ordonna Mardochée. Onmiddellijk werden de secretarissen van de koning ontboden, op de drieëntwintigste dag van de derde maand. Mordechai dicteerde hun de brieven aan de Joden, de gouverneurs en andere regeringsvertegenwoordigers van alle honderdzevenentwintig gewesten, van India tot Ethiopië. Kungens alla sekreterare inkallades på den tjugotredje dagen i tredje månaden, månaden sivan.
