Esther 6:1

On that night [a]the king could not sleep; so he ordered that the book of records and memorable deeds, the chronicles, be brought, and they were read before the king.

They came across the story there about the time that Mordecai had exposed the plot of Bigthana and Teresh—the two royal eunuchs who guarded the entrance and who had conspired to assassinate King Xerxes.

Den natten hade kungen svårt för att sova och lät hämta krönikan över minnesvärda händelser. Man läste ur den för honom.
