Ecclesiastes 1:17

And I set my mind to know [practical] wisdom and to discern [the character of] madness and folly [in which men seem to find satisfaction]; I realized that this too is a futile grasping and chasing after the wind.

And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.

Then I used my mind to understand what it really means to be wise. And I wanted to know what foolish pleasure is all about. But I found out that it’s also like chasing the wind.

ثُمَّ وَجَّهْتُ فِكْرِي نَحْوَ مَعْرِفَةِ الْحِكْمَةِ وَالْجُنُونِ وَالْحَمَاقَةِ، فَأَدْرَكْتُ أَنَّ هَذَا لَيْسَ سِوَى مُلاحَقَةِ الرِّيحِ أَيْضاً.

Derfor har jeg tænkt meget over fordelen ved at have visdom og kundskab frem for at være dum og uvidende. Men jeg opdagede, at selv det var formålsløst.

Jag ansträngde mig för att förstå vishet och kunskap, och likaså dumhet och dårskap, och jag insåg att även det var ett jagande efter vind,
