Deuteronomy 5:22

“The Lord spoke these words with a great voice to all your assembly at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, and He added no more. He wrote these commandments on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

These words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

These are the words that God spoke to the whole congregation at the mountain. He spoke in a tremendous voice from the fire and cloud and dark mist. And that was it. No more words. Then he wrote them on two slabs of stone and gave them to me. 23-24 As it turned out, when you heard the Voice out of that dark cloud and saw the mountain on fire, you approached me, all the heads of your tribes and your leaders, and said, 24-26 “Our God has revealed to us his glory and greatness. We’ve heard him speak from the fire today! We’ve seen that God can speak to humans and they can still live. But why risk it further? This huge fire will devour us if we stay around any longer. If we hear God’s voice anymore, we’ll die for sure. Has anyone ever known of anyone who has heard the Voice of God the way we have and lived to tell the story?

Herren gav de her befalinger til hele folket, da han talte til dem fra ilden på bjerget, som var omgivet af mørke og sorte skyer. Det var de eneste bud, han dengang gav folket, og han skrev dem på to stentavler og gav tavlerne til mig.

暗雲の垂れ込めるシナイ山でこれらのことばを、主は炎の中からあなたがた一人一人に告げられました。主はそれを二枚の石板に記して私に下さいました。

Detta är de bud som Herren gav till er alla då ni stod nedanför berget. Han uttalade dem med hög röst ur elden, molnet och det djupa mörkret. Dessa var de enda bud han gav er och han skrev ner dem på två stentavlor och gav dem åt mig.
