2 Thessalonians 2:1

Now in regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our [a]gathering together to meet Him, we ask you, [b]brothers and sisters,

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

1-3 Now, friends, read these next words carefully. Slow down and don’t go jumping to conclusions regarding the day when our Master, Jesus Christ, will come back and we assemble to welcome him. Don’t let anyone shake you up or get you excited over some breathless report or rumored letter from me that the day of the Master’s arrival has come and gone. Don’t fall for any line like that.

Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the [a]coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,

Brothers and sisters, we want to ask you something. It has to do with the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It concerns the time when we will go to be with him.

Now, dear brothers and sisters,[a] let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him.

وَلَكِنْ بِالنِّسْبَةِ إِلَى رُجُوعِ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ وَاجْتِمَاعِنَا إِلَيْهِ مَعاً، نَرْجُو مِنْكُمْ أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ

A teď k tomu očekávanému příchodu Pána Ježíše Krista. 2-4 Prosím vás, nenechte si poplést hlavu pověstmi, že ten den už přichází, i kdyby to někdo tvrdil na základě nějakého prorockého vidění nebo se dokonce odvolával na nás. Nikdy jsme nic takového neřekli ani nenapsali. Než ten den nastane, musí dojít k velkému odpadnutí od původního Kristova učení a vystoupí člověk ztělesňující vzpouru proti Bohu a jeho zákonu. Ten se vyvýší nade všechno, co nese Boží jméno, a bude vyžadovat božské pocty sám pro sebe. Dokonce si přisvojí Boží trůn a představí se jako Bůh.
