2 Samuel 24:3

But Joab said to the king, “May the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times as many as there are, and let the eyes of my lord the king see it; but why does my lord the king [c]want to do this thing?”

And Joab said unto the king, Now the Lord thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing?

But Joab resisted the king: “May your God multiply people by the hundreds right before the eyes of my master the king, but why on earth would you do a thing like this?” 4-9 Nevertheless, the king insisted, and so Joab and the army officers left the king to take a census of Israel. They crossed the Jordan and began with Aroer and the town in the canyon of the Gadites near Jazer, proceeded through Gilead, passed Hermon, then on to Dan, but detoured Sidon. They covered Fort Tyre and all the Hivite and Canaanite cities, and finally reached the Negev of Judah at Beersheba. They canvassed the whole country and after nine months and twenty days arrived back in Jerusalem. Joab gave the results of the census to the king: 800,000 able-bodied fighting men in Israel; in Judah 500,000.

But Joab said to the king, “Now may the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times as many as they are, while the eyes of my lord the king still see; but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?”

Joab replied to the king. He said, “King David, you are my master. May the Lord your God multiply the troops 100 times. And may you live to see it. But why would you want me to count the fighting men?”

But Joab replied to the king, “May the Lord your God multiply the troops a hundred times over, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king want to do such a thing?”

But Joab replied to the king, “May the Lord your God let you live to see a hundred times as many people as there are now! But why, my lord the king, do you want to do this?”

فَأَجَابَ يُوآبُ: «لِيُضَاعِفِ الرَّبُّ الشَّعْبَ مِئَةَ مِثْلٍ وَأَنْتَ تَتَمَتَّعُ بِطُولِ الْعُمْرِ، وَلَكِنْ لِمَاذَا يَرْغَبُ سَيِّدِي الْمَلِكُ فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا الأَمْرِ؟»

Men Joab svarede: „Gud give, at din hær må vokse til 100 gange af, hvad den er nu—og at du må leve så længe, at du oplever det! Hvorfor vil min herre, kongen, begå en sådan synd?”

Doch Joab wandte ein: »Mein König, ich wünsche dir ja, dass der Herr, dein Gott, das Volk noch zu deinen Lebzeiten hundertmal größer werden lässt! Aber ich verstehe nicht, warum du nun so etwas verlangst.«

Joab le respondió:―¡Que el Señor tu Dios multiplique cien veces las tropas de mi señor el rey, y le permita llegar a verlo con sus propios ojos! Pero ¿qué lleva a mi señor el rey a hacer tal cosa?

Joab le respondió:—¡Que el Señor su Dios multiplique cien veces las tropas de Su Majestad, y le permita llegar a verlo con sus propios ojos! Pero ¿qué lleva a Su Majestad a hacer tal cosa?

Joab dit au roi : Que l’Eternel, ton Dieu, rende le peuple cent fois plus nombreux et que mon seigneur le roi puisse encore le voir de ses yeux ! Mais pourquoi mon seigneur le roi désire-t-il faire pareille chose ?

Pero nagsabat si Joab sa hari, “Kabay pa nga padamuon sang Ginoo nga imo Dios ang imo katawhan sing 100 ka pilo, kag kabay pa nga makita mo ini. Pero Mahal nga Hari, ngaa nga gusto mo himuon ini nga butang?”

그러나 요압은 이렇게 대답하였다. “왕의 하나님 여호와께서 이 백성의 수를지금보다백배나더많게하시 고또왕이그날까지사시기를바랍 니다. 그런데왕은어째서이런일을 하려고 하십니까?”

Maar Joab antwoordde: ‘God geve u nog zoveel tijd van leven dat u de dag meemaakt dat er honderdmaal zoveel mensen in uw koninkrijk zijn als nu. Maar waarom wilt u per se een volkstelling houden?’

Joabe, porém, respondeu ao rei: “Que o Senhor, o teu Deus, multiplique o povo por cem, e que os olhos do rei, meu senhor, o vejam! Mas, por que o rei, meu senhor, deseja fazer isso?”

Joabe replicou: “Que o Senhor, teu Deus, permita que vivas o bastante para veres este povo multiplicado cem vezes neste reino! Que interesse tens tu nesse recenseamento?”

Dar Ioab i-a zis regelui:– Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, să înmulţească poporul de o sută de ori mai mult şi fie ca stăpânul meu, regele, să vadă cu ochii săi lucrul acesta! Dar de ce doreşte stăpânul meu, regele, să facă acest lucru?

Men Joav svarade: ”Visserligen önskar jag att Herren ska öka vårt folk hundra gånger och att du själv ska få se det med egna ögon, min herre och kung, men varför måste vi räkna folket?”

แต่โยอาบกราบทูลว่า “ขอพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของฝ่าพระบาททรงเพิ่มกองทหารร้อยเท่า และขอให้ฝ่าพระบาทได้เห็นกับตา เหตุใดฝ่าพระบาทจึงมีพระประสงค์จะกระทำเช่นนี้”

约押说：“我主我王，愿你的上帝耶和华使国民增加百倍，让你亲眼看到。但我主我王为什么要统计人口呢？”

约 押 对 王 说 ： 无 论 百 姓 多 少 ， 愿 耶 和 华 ─ 你 的 神 再 加 增 百 倍 ， 使 我 主 我 王 亲 眼 得 见 。 我 主 我 王 何 必 喜 悦 行 这 事 呢 ？

約押說：「我主我王，願你的上帝耶和華使國民增加百倍，讓你親眼看到。但我主我王為什麼要統計人口呢？」
