2 Samuel 10:3

But the princes of the Ammonites [were suspicious and] said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think that David is honoring your father because he has sent comforters to you? Has David not sent his servants to you in order to search the city, to spy it out and overthrow it?”

And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?

the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, “[b]Do you think that David is honoring your father because he has sent consolers to you? Has David not sent his servants to you in order to search the city, to spy it out and overthrow it?”

The Ammonite commanders spoke to their master Hanun. They said, “David has sent messengers to tell you he is sad. They say he wants to honor your father. But the real reason they’ve come is to look the city over. They want to destroy it.”

قَالَ رُؤَسَاءُ بَنِي عَمُّونَ لِسَيِّدِهِمْ: «أَتَظُنُّ أَنَّ دَاوُدَ يَسْتَهْدِفُ إِكْرَامَ أَبِيكَ فِي عَيْنَيْكَ بِإِرْسَالِهِ هَذَا الْوَفْدِ لِلتَّعْزِيَةِ؟ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يُرْسِلْ هَذَا الْوَفْدَ إِلّا لاِسْتِطْلاعِ أَحْوَالِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَالتَّجَسُّسِ عَلَيْهَا وَقَلْبِهَا».

Men de ammonitiske officerer sagde til Hanun: „De mænd er ikke kommet for at ære din fars minde! Nej, det er blot et påskud for at udspionere os, for i virkeligheden har David i sinde at angribe os.”

Das ist doch nur ein Vorwand! Spione sind sie, die unsere Hauptstadt auskundschaften sollen, weil David sie bald angreifen und erobern will!«

Maar Hanuns officieren fluisterden hem in: ‘U gelooft toch zeker niet dat deze mannen zijn gekomen om u te condoleren met het verlies van uw vader! David heeft ze gestuurd om te spioneren in de stad, voordat hij ons aanvalt!’

亚扪的官长却对哈嫩说：“大卫派人来安慰你，你以为他是来吊唁你父亲吗？他不过是来探听虚实，想征服我们的城。”

亞捫的官長卻對哈嫩說：「大衛派人來安慰你，你以為他是來弔唁你父親嗎？他不過是來探聽虛實，想征服我們的城。」
