When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven by a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were traveling from Gilgal.

And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

1-2 Just before God took Elijah to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on a walk out of Gilgal. Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here. God has sent me on an errand to Bethel.”Elisha said, “Not on your life! I’m not letting you out of my sight!” So they both went to Bethel.

And it came about when the Lord was about to take up Elijah by a [a]whirlwind to heaven, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. The Lord was going to use a strong wind to take Elijah up to heaven.

وَعِنْدَمَا أَزْمَعَ الرَّبُّ أَنْ يَنْقُلَ إِيلِيَّا فِي الْعَاصِفَةِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، ذَهَبَ إِيلِيَّا وَأَلِيشَعُ مِنَ الْجِلْجَالِ.

Da Herren hentede Elias op til Himlen i en hvirvelvind, foregik det på følgende måde:Elias og Elisa kom gående sammen på vejen fra Gilgal.[a]

Der Tag kam, an dem der Herr den Propheten Elia in einem Wirbelsturm zu sich in den Himmel holen wollte. An diesem Tag verließen Elia und Elisa die Stadt Gilgal.

1,2 Het tijdstip naderde waarop de Here Elia met behulp van een wervelwind in de hemel zou opnemen.
