Then Jehu wrote a second letter to them, saying, “If you are with me and will obey me, take the heads of your master’s [a]sons, and come to me at Jezreel tomorrow about this time.” Now the [dead] king’s sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.

Meet me in Jezreel by this time tomorrow.”There were 70 royal princes. They were with the most important men of the city. Those men were in charge of raising them.

فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِرِسَالَةٍ ثَانِيَةٍ قَائِلاً: «إِنْ كُنْتُمْ حَقّاً مِنْ أَنْصَارِي، وَتَأْتَمِرُونَ بِأَمْرِي، فَاقْطَعُوا رُؤُوسَ أَبْنَاءِ سَيِّدِكُمْ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَأَحْضِرُوهَا إِلَيَّ فِي يَزْرَعِيلَ، فِي نَحْوِ هَذَا الْوَقْتِ فِي يَوْمِ الْغَدِ». وَكَانَ أَبْنَاءُ الْمَلِكِ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلاً يَعِيشُونَ فِي رِعَايَةِ أَشْرَافِ الْمَدِينَةِ الَّذِينَ تَعَهَّدُوهُمْ بِالتَّرْبِيَةِ.

Jehu svarede tilbage: „Hvis I holder med mig og vælger at adlyde mig, så bring Ahabs sønners hoveder til Jizre’el i morgen ved denne tid.”Alle 70 prinser var i pleje hos byens ledende mænd, som havde taget sig af dem, siden de var små.
