[a]Now Solomon decided to build a house (temple) for the Name of the Lord, and a royal palace for himself.

And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the Lord, and an house for his kingdom.

Solomon gave orders to begin construction on the house of worship in honor of God and a palace for himself.

وَأَصْدَرَ سُلَيْمَانُ أَمْرَهُ بِبِنَاءِ هَيْكَلٍ لاِسْمِ الرَّبِّ وَقَصْرٍ لِلْمَلِكِ.

Til arbejdet udskrev han 80.000 mænd til at hugge stenblokke i bjergene, 70.000 mænd til at transportere stenene og 3600 arbejdsformænd.

Er verpflichtete 80.000 Männer, die im Steinbruch in den Bergen arbeiteten, sowie 70.000, die für den Transport der gewonnenen Steinblöcke verantwortlich waren. Über diese Fronarbeiter setzte er 3600 Aufseher ein.
