2 Chronicles 10:7

They answered him, saying, “If you are kind to these people and please them and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever.”

And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.

They said, “If you will be a servant to this people, be considerate of their needs and respond with compassion, work things out with them, they’ll end up doing anything for you.” 8-9 But he rejected the counsel of the elders and asked the young men he’d grown up with who were now currying his favor, “What do you think? What should I say to these people who are saying, ‘Give us a break from your father’s harsh ways—lighten up on us’?” 10-11 The young turks he’d grown up with said, “These people who complain, ‘Your father was too hard on us; lighten up’—well, tell them this: ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist. If you think life under my father was hard, you haven’t seen the half of it. My father thrashed you with whips; I’ll beat you bloody with chains!’” 12-14 Three days later Jeroboam and the people showed up, just as Rehoboam had directed when he said, “Give me three days to think it over; then come back.” The king’s answer was harsh and rude. He spurned the counsel of the elders and went with the advice of the younger set: “If you think life under my father was hard, you haven’t seen the half of it: my father thrashed you with whips; I’ll beat you bloody with chains!”

They spoke to him, saying, “If you will be kind to this people and please them and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever.”

They replied, “Be kind to them. Please them. Give them what they are asking for. Then they’ll always serve you.”

They replied, “If you will be kind to these people and please them and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your servants.”

They replied, ‘If you will be kind to these people and please them and give them a favourable answer, they will always be your servants.’

The older counselors replied, “If you are good to these people and do your best to please them and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your loyal subjects.”

فَأَجَابُوهُ: «إِنْ تَرَأَّفْتَ عَلَى هَذَا الشَّعْبِ وَرَاعَيْتَهُ وَأَحْسَنْتَ مُخَاطَبَتَهُ، يُصْبِحُ لَكَ عَبْداً كُلَّ الأَيَّامِ».

„Hvis du viser venlighed over for lederne og siger, at du vil behandle folket godt, så vil de være loyale over for dig,” var deres svar.

Sie antworteten: »Sei freundlich zu ihnen und gib ihnen nach. Wenn du heute bereit bist, auf dein Volk zu hören, dann wird dein Volk morgen auf dich hören und dir dienen.«

그러자 그들은 “만일 왕이 이 백성을 따뜻이 대하고 만족스러운 대답으로 이들의 마음을 흐뭇하게 하시면 그들이 왕을 언제나 충성스럽게 섬길 것입니다” 하고 대답하였다.

”Om du är vänlig mot detta folk och tillmötesgår dem och ger dem ett välvilligt svar kommer de alltid att tjäna dig”, svarade de.
