1 Chronicles 21:3

Joab said, “May the Lord add to His people a hundred times as many as they are! But, my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? Why then does my lord require this? Why will he bring guilt on Israel?”

And Joab answered, The Lord make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? why then doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

Joab resisted: “May God multiply his people by hundreds! Don’t they all belong to my master the king? But why on earth would you do a thing like this—why risk getting Israel into trouble with God?” 4-7 But David wouldn’t take no for an answer, so Joab went off and did it—canvassed the country and then came back to Jerusalem and reported the results of the census: There were 1,100,000 fighting men; of that total, Judah accounted for 470,000. Joab, disgusted by the command—it, in fact, turned his stomach!—protested by leaving Levi and Benjamin out of the census-taking. And God, offended by the whole thing, punished Israel.

Joab said, “May the Lord add to His people a hundred times as many as they are! But, my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? Why does my lord seek this thing? Why should he be a cause of guilt to Israel?”

Joab replied, “May the Lord multiply his troops 100 times. King David, you are my master. Aren’t all the men under your control? Why would you want me to count them? Do you want to make Israel guilty?”

But Joab replied, “May the Lord multiply his troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s subjects? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”

But Joab replied, ‘May the Lord multiply his troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s subjects? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?’

But Joab replied, “May the Lord increase the number of his people a hundred times over! But why, my lord the king, do you want to do this? Are they not all your servants? Why must you cause Israel to sin?”

فَأَجَابَ يُوآبُ مُعْتَرِضاً: «لِيَزِدِ الرَّبُّ شَعْبَهُ مِئَةَ ضِعْفٍ! أَلَيْسُوا جَمِيعاً رَعِيَّةَ سَيِّدِي الْمَلِكِ؟ لِمَاذَا يَطْلُبُ سَيِّدِي هَذَا؟ وَلِمَاذَا يَجْلِبُ إِثْماً عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ؟»

Men Joab svarede: „Gud give, at din hær må vokse til 100 gange af, hvad den er nu. Min herre og konge, er de ikke alle loyale over for dig? Hvorfor vil du begå denne synd? Hvorfor bringe ulykke over Israels folk?”

Doch Joab wandte ein: »Der Herr möge sein Volk noch hundertmal größer werden lassen! Sie alle sind doch sowieso deine Untertanen, mein König! Warum verlangst du so etwas? Warum willst du Israel diese Schuld aufbürden?«

Joab le respondió:―¡Que el Señor multiplique cien veces a su pueblo! Pero ¿acaso no son todos ellos siervos de mi señor? ¿Para qué quiere hacer esto mi señor? ¿Por qué ha de hacer algo que traiga la desgracia sobre Israel?

Joab le respondió:—¡Que el Señor multiplique cien veces a su pueblo! Pero ¿acaso no son todos ellos servidores suyos? ¿Para qué quiere hacer esto Su Majestad? ¿Por qué ha de hacer algo que traiga la desgracia sobre Israel?

Joab dit : Que l’Eternel rende son peuple cent fois plus nombreux ! O roi, mon seigneur, ne sont-ils pas tous aujourd’hui déjà des sujets de mon seigneur ? Pourquoi alors, mon seigneur ordonne-t-il pareille chose ? Pourquoi chargerait-il Israël d’une faute ?

Pero nagsabat si Joab, “Kabay pa nga padamuon sang Ginoo ang imo katawhan sing 100 ka pilo. Pero, Mahal nga Hari, ngaa nga gusto mo himuon ini nga butang? Indi bala nga mga sakop mo sila? Ti, ngaa dalahigon mo sila sa imo sala nga himuon?”

그때 요압이 이렇게 말하였다. “만일 여호와께서 이 백성을 지금보다 백 배나 더 많게 한다고 해도 그들이 모두 왕의 백성이 아닙니까? 그런데 왕은 어째서 이런 일을 하여 이스라엘을 범죄하게 하십니까?”

Maar Joab protesteerde: ‘Zelfs al zou de Here zijn volk nog honderdmaal groter maken—wat ik van harte wens—zouden zij dan ook niet allemaal uw onderdanen zijn? Waarom vraagt u ons dan dit te doen? Waarom laadt u deze schuld op Israël?’

Joabe, porém, respondeu: “Que o Senhor multiplique o povo dele por cem. Ó rei, meu senhor, não são, porventura, todos eles súditos do meu senhor? Por que o meu senhor deseja fazer isso? Por que deveria trazer culpa sobre Israel?”

Joabe replicou: “Ainda que o Senhor multiplicasse o seu povo cem vezes mais, não continuaria a pertencer-te? Então porque é que queres fazer uma coisa dessas? Porque levas Israel a pecar?”

Dar Ioab i-a zis:– Domnul să înmulţească poporul Său de o sută de ori mai mult! O, rege, stăpânul meu, oare nu suntem toţi slujitorii stăpânului meu? De ce stăpânul meu cere lucrul acesta? De ce să aduci vină asupra lui Israel?

Но Иоав ответил:– Пусть Вечный умножит количество Своего народа стократно. Разве не все они, господин мой царь, твои рабы? Зачем мой господин хочет это сделать? Зачем ему наводить грех на Исраил?

Но Иоав ответил:– Пусть Господь умножит Свой народ стократно. Разве не все они, господин мой царь, твои слуги? Зачем мой господин хочет это сделать? Зачем ему навлекать вину на Израиль?

Men Joav svarade: ”Må Herren föröka sitt folk hundra gånger! Är de inte alla dina undersåtar, min herre kung? Varför begär du, min herre, detta? Varför dra skuld över Israel?”

โยอาบทูลทัดทานว่า “ขอองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงเพิ่มพูนกำลังพลของพระองค์ร้อยเท่า ทั้งหมดก็เป็นคนของฝ่าพระบาทไม่ใช่หรือ? เหตุใดจึงทรงประสงค์ให้ทำเช่นนี้? ควรหรือที่จะนำความผิดมาสู่อิสราเอล?”

约押说：“愿耶和华使祂子民的人数比现在增加百倍。但我主我王啊，他们不都是你的仆人吗？我主为什么要这样做，使以色列人陷于罪中呢？”

约 押 说 ： 愿 耶 和 华 使 他 的 百 姓 比 现 在 加 增 百 倍 。 我 主 我 王 啊 ， 他 们 不 都 是 你 的 仆 人 麽 ？ 我 主 为 何 吩 咐 行 这 事 ， 为 何 使 以 色 列 人 陷 在 罪 里 呢 ？

約押說：「願耶和華使祂子民的人數比現在增加百倍。但我主我王啊，他們不都是你的僕人嗎？我主為什麼要這樣做，使以色列人陷於罪中呢？」
