1 Chronicles 17:6

Wherever I have walked with all Israel, did I say a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, ‘Why have you not built for Me a house of cedar?’”’

Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?

In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, ‘Why have you not built for Me a house of cedar?’”’

I have moved from place to place with all the Israelites. I commanded their leaders to be shepherds over my people. I never asked any of those leaders, ‘Why haven’t you built me a house that has beautiful cedar walls?’ ” ’

Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their leaders[a] whom I commanded to shepherd my people, “Why have you not built me a house of cedar?”’

Yet no matter where I have gone with the Israelites, I have never once complained to Israel’s leaders, the shepherds of my people. I have never asked them, “Why haven’t you built me a beautiful cedar house?”’

فَهَلْ فِي أَثْنَاءِ مُرَافَقَتِي لإِسْرَائِيلَ طَالَبْتُ وَلَوْ بِكَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ أَحَدَ قُضَاتِهِمِ الَّذِينَ أَوْكَلْتُ إِلَيْهِمْ رِعَايَةَ شَعْبِي، قَائِلاً: لِمَاذَا لَمْ تَبْنُوا لِي بَيْتاً مِنْ خَشَبِ الأَرْزِ؟

Har jeg nogen sinde beklaget mig over det til de ledere, jeg indsatte som hyrder for mit folk? Har jeg bedt nogen af dem om at bygge mig et fornemt hus af cedertræ?
